One of the reasons I laugh when I see people comparing Azikiwe with some local tribal champions.. Azikiwe that was rubbing shoulders internationally, hence his PanAfricanism, while others were busy swimming in the ocean of tribalism and ethnic jingoism

Modified:People should know the difference between National Hero, Regional Hero and tribal hero before commenting..
So what did Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe achieve for his Igbo tribe and Nigeria?
Lest you forget that he was not the one who moved the motion for the Independence of Nigeria.

What is his legacy compared to the visionary leadership of the great Chief Obafemi Awolowo whose free education policy made his people the Yoruba tribe the most educated in Nigeria?
Re: National Heroes Of Nigeria & Other Countries (List) by Inyaky(f): 2:57pm On Mar 11
Have you heard of zikism, Nnamdi azikiwe is a national hero, tribalism is affecting most of you in naira land and most of you that argue blindly and based on tribes are illiterate

With due respect...abeg commot Nnamdi Azikiwe abeg.....

We have no national heroe in Nigeria only regional heroes...

To the yorubas, ours is Obafemi Awolowo...That is the only man who laid the foundation for the Yoruba region to progress, until the bastards grew up and poured variety of broken bottles and carcasses on the foundation.....

Someone that gave you independence when your forefathers was under the tree.

Rest on zik of Africa.

Nigeria Governor general and first president.
Re: National Heroes Of Nigeria & Other Countries (List) by Mathewrichard99: 3:16pm On Mar 11
I have always said it....Nigeria doesn't have a national hero or a National model to look and admire....we only have local or regional champions, ethnic heroes.... And sadly, in this modern time, we still don't have a role model in form of good leadership.... Nigeria is a deprived country, deprived of good leadership, deprived of prosperity, deprived of good living but blessed with kleptomaniac politicians and large population of terrible citizens.....

NairalandBishop:
Nigeria has no national unifying figure

This country has never been united for anything, Sadly.
Re: National Heroes Of Nigeria & Other Countries (List) by Islander23(m): 3:17pm On Mar 11
The list contains of first generation progressive leaders of each country so it's no fuss to see Pa Zik"s name on the list...He was the first "ceremonial"president of the country... Legacies left behind should be a strong factor to determine an hero of a country
Re: National Heroes Of Nigeria & Other Countries (List) by Federalofficia(m): 3:27pm On Mar 11
At least them don mention zik now nobody talk even thou Nigeria hero is not one person na plenty contributions but then don mention zik alone now na ona still they compare and contrast again if them mention, Ahmodu Bello or awolowo ona go say na nonsense why ona no they ever agree with anything either he favour ona or not

There were no national hero back then but Regional hero, though Zik has upper hands in terms of his influence in Africa at large.

The leaders from west, North and East fought for our political independence.

Igbos have been looking for medicine to cure Zik-inflicted disease. He was the least foresighted for asking for continuation of Nigeria in the 1960s.
Anyway, he was born in Zungeru, northern Nigeria. He had the interest of his fellow northerners.
He's as useless as Goodluck Jonathan

Azikwe the unity beggar was the one who begged tafawa bale was and his people to remain in Nigeria when they wanted to secede.
He stopped Yorubas from owning kwara state as part of the SW, sacrificing Delta state in the process.
That man is the reason why Nigeria is one, God will keep punishingg him, Nigeria has no reason to be united,
Lets go our separate ways.
Where's the source of these your rantings? Or are you speaking from a beer parlour? grin
