Don't let people here discourage you, I know someone who got a good Nigerian used 2008 fairly used Camry about 2 months ago for 5 point something and by and large the car has been of good use (of course the little repairs here and there you will expect of a typical Nigerian used cars)
Your current budget is not too far off, do not let the naysayers discourage you.

However, most first time buyers do not realise that the cost of procuring the car is only the first half of the story.
maintaining a car, especially if it is not new and considering the crazy cost of fuel is also forcefully tug at your pocket.

You can wake up in the morning joyfully and without warning before the end of that same day, you can be facing repairs that might cost you over a 100k

You are not alone...so many people are going through similar thing but are not honest and bold enough to say it.

You are just going to be 26 and all you can think of is getting a car so you can impress women and keep sleeping with them. Sleep go tire person wey don die.

Put that money into the business that yielded it and grow it until you can afford to buy a decent car. You don't owe anyone to impress them.

If you don't have a land/property investment, do that first before the car. If you have already, others more knowledgeable in cars here will help you decide.

Don't buy a Nigeria used car please. You will not only regret you will be prey to Nigerian "trial and error" Mechanics.

If you eventually are to buy a Nigerian used car, please buy from the last owner you know directly.

I don't agree with you please. There're very GENUINE car dealers on nairaland who are truthful nd trustworthy. Louis cars and one other guy( can't remember his name now)

You better go buy treasury bill with that money oooo my guy. That's the surest investment for now and after one year you are sure of your 3.5m then other money go don enter and you can add up and good motto okay?
