correctguy101:But, if we don't suffer and endure ourselves, we tend to choose people who we expect would not cause us to suffer or to endure and that is where the shock is. |

tuoyoojo:You nailed it, they are many people who are enjoying their marriages. if you are not close to them you Will never know because apart from sports, music and comedy mostly only bad things that trend and again a marriage found on the principles of the Bible with both parties laying aside self(me), pride and embracing transformation of character will be enjoyed even in the mist of challenges |

ebubeson:Wuna de suffer for Nigeria sha, see how this post is filled with bitter and discouraged people.. sadly alot of you use your Nigerian relationship experience to conclude on how less enjoyable matrimony truly is. Best thing that ever happened to me was getting married .. My wife is not a Nigerian.. Infact I have started hooking my friends up with chickens outside Nigeria ad trust me they have started having a change of heart towards matrimony. Like in 2026 you go see full grown Nigerian man in his late 30s to early 40s no wife no kids and he ain't even bothered. God go help us . ![]() |

Its not a bed of roses, you have good and bad times. In the good times you enjoy as much as possible then in the bad times remember the good times and hope you pull through the bad times. ✌️ |

Olufemiolaolu:Marriage is nothing like life. A bad marriage, unlike life can totally destroy one to the very core. Life at least presents opportunities for release every now and then. A bad marriage can completely deny one of any of that. So, to compare marriage to life is to go completely off the script. 🥱🥱🥱 It is more sensible to compare marriage to a job or an investment. 🥱🥱 |

And with all who have trust and obey Trust and obey For there is no other way To be happy in this life But to trust and obey! ![]() |

Fiscus105:You are correct that marriage requires work. No one denies that. But your analogy fails because school and trades follow fixed rules. Marriage follows human emotions. You can work harder than anyone on Earth, but if your partner's attraction dies, or their selfishness takes over, your work is wasted. You say no couple is 'lucky'—but tell me: Is it not luck to marry someone who fights fair instead of dirty? Is it not luck to marry someone whose libido matches yours? Is it not luck to avoid tragedy? You can work hard, but you cannot control the weather. And in marriage, the weather is the other person's free will." |

Any marriage without endurance won't last. What give birth to endurance in marriage is LOVE. Love endures all things ( 1 cor 13 7) When there is Love you are bound to enjoy your marriage to the fullest |

Solofresh2:School has rules but marriage doesn't? I laugh your childish/ignorant off. If marriage as an institution has certificate which people can use to earn money, you will see how couples would be showing commitment to make it workable. Everything in the universe, physical or spiritual has rules of engagement to succeed or fail, and anything, I repeat, anything you don't put efforts and commitments on, in other to succeed, must fail, marriage is not an exception. |

Marriage is service to society. Not enjoyment. It's you giving your 2 cent to humanity/civilization, then sign out after that. |
| Re: Is Marriage For Enjoyment Or Endurance? by BalogunIdowu(m): 4:57pm On Mar 12 |
ebubeson:The truth is marriage is both, and they work hand in hand. |
| Re: Is Marriage For Enjoyment Or Endurance? by Solofresh2: 5:03pm On Mar 12 |
Fiscus105:You keep saying 'put effort and it will succeed.' But tell me: How many couples have you seen who tried everything—therapy, date nights, sacrifice—and still divorced? Were they just lazy? Or did one person simply stop wanting it? You want marriage to be like school because school is fair. Study = pass. But marriage is not fair. You can give someone your whole life, and they can wake up one day and say 'I'm not happy.' No certificate, no appeal, no refund. That is reality. You call me childish. I call you someone who hasn't been burned yet. Wait your turn |
