Guys, I have an urgent question. For someone who is a freelancer and is acting as a self-sponsor, what amount of tax is advisable to file? All funds have been built monthly over the last few years |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 10:00pm On Mar 12 |
Zybob:If I understand your question correctly, you are asking what amount of taxable income you should declare to IRCC as a freelancer in Nigeria when using your earnings as proof of funds for a student visa. Well there is no fixed tax amount required. However, your declared income should logically explain how you were able to build your savings over time. |

Preenzz43:Please did you process Visa application by yourself or used a visa consultant? Kind advice, i was offer admission into UNB new brunwick, waiting for my LOA after have tried to melt all conditions. Please what can i do to speed up my process and can i proceed to visa application? Anyone here who got admitted to UNB for Master Sept 2026 can Let's connect. Thanks |

amnotapervert:Thank you for your response. My Worry is that, the tax filing does not correlate with the monthly inflow ove the years. Imagine submitting a statement of N34,875,500.00 with monthly income of N5,000,000/00 as an example. Wouldnt the tax filling need to correlate with the monthly inflow? |

Zybob:they don't need any tax documents, they need funds in account and source |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Profgordons(m): 12:22am On Mar 13 |
ifeanyija:Not really, tax documents help with proof of employment and source of income. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 4:35am On Mar 13 |
Zybob:You need to understand that IRCC needs to see that you have enough money, and that the money is linked to a legitimate business or job. In your case, you want to use tax filings via your freelancing business as that link. It’s nothing more than that I do not know more than what you are asking |

Zybob:your taxes and salary should match to help build a credible story about your finances |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:24am On Mar 13 |
The tax will expose you, they didn't ask you for your income tax as a salary earner, submit your salary account and payslip if available, then you are good to go. Zybob: |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 11:02am On Mar 13 |
You're right, tax and income should match. Most Nigerians understate their income so that they will pay less taxes. So if you are in that category, my advise is that you don't include a tax certificate (since the figures are not real). If you must use a tax certificate, ensure that your annual income correspond with your tax. Moreover, since you said you are a freelancer, what tax have you been paying? If you have not been paying any verifiable tax, there is no need to add anything that will not help your application. Zybob: |

amnotapervert:Why do you like luring people to agents? I got 8 admissions offer with no agent |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 6:29pm On Mar 13 |
AbelAbdul:ooo now its 8 admission you are surely the king of admission with out visa hahahah See your life how you keep mixing things up Admission and visa processing are two completely different things. No one needs an agent to get admission or even Visa. I never told anyone to use an agent to get admission. What I have always said is that if you must use an agent, it should only be for the visa process, and the agent should be licensed. My issue with you is that you keep making up statements that I never made. I am a do-it-yourself person, and I have always stood by that. I have seen the damage that many Facebook agents have done to people, which is why I always warn. In my opinion, no one will present your case better than you can yourself. That is why I always encourage people to handle their applications themselves. But if you absolutely must use an agent for the visa process, please make sure the agent is licensed. and for visa processing Nigeria only has 7 lincenced immigration consultants https://register.college-ic.ca/Public-Register-EN/RCIC_Search.aspx

amnotapervert:I want to apply for study permit this month. My school said I should pay 2k CAD to get my LOA. I mailed my school that I want to pay more money for tuition fee and accommodation. The school said that the tuition fee is paid based on courses registered and I can only know how much I will pay in July during course registration. for accommodation, I can only pay in June. Should I pay only the 2k CAD and apply for study permit? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ehiremen2002: 3:06am On Mar 14 |
@AbelAbdul if you have your full tuition go ahead to pay it. This doesnt garanteen your visa, but give a better change. I have seen people that paid full tuition and still got deny student visa. But if you have it, please go ahaead and make the full tuition deposit. Also what good to note, if you have your accommodation money or living expenses totallying to around 23k cad. Just go ahead with opening a bank account and do your GIC AbelAbdul: |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Nozino: 3:18am On Mar 14 |
ehiremen2002:Apply for a new program and new student visa. Get a work permit Get PR Get Married Apply for asylum |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ehiremen2002: 3:25am On Mar 14 |
Just completed Level 2 and left with Level 3. So might advise to take a schedule break to gain sometime . alternative is pay 8k + and quickly complete Level 3 and head home. Asylum is not an option. I dont encourage asylum, its a lot of lie and outcome not sure. Getting married for the purpose of PR is also not an option. Maybe work permit, this could be the best option where we could explore. But one have to explore with care. Nozino: |
