A Lieutenant in the army outranks a Warrant Officer in the military hierarchy, and I am quite certain the corresponding grade level is also higher. However, when you compare their salaries in this report, the Warrant Officer’s pay is almost double that of the Lieutenant. That alone raises serious doubts about the credibility of the report. It appears less like an official document and more like something concocted in a shekpe joint. ![]() |

I smell lies.. How can regular soldiers earn more than commissioned officers. |

This is a lot of money going into salary payments. While the soldiers deserve it, the government has to be intentional about blocking specific loopholes in the system. For instance, end that madness called constituency allowances - this is just means of enriching legislators. The federal ministry of works exists for a reason! If not, the salary will skyrocket federal concurrent expenditure. |

Richtaiwo:Do you know what it takes to reach the ranks of AWO? Their experience if far higher than the new officers . You want to compare someone with more than 30 years on the job with Someone with 1-5 years experience |

davillian:AWO remains subordinate to a Lieutenant, regardless of the number of years of experience he may have. The same principle applies in the public service. A school certificate holder remains subordinate to a fresh graduate within the organizational structure. There is no arrangement in which non-management staff are paid more than those occupying managerial positions. Stop forcing a non-existent opinion based on information that is clearly inaccurate. I am quite certain that even a Lieutenant with just one day of service earns more than an AWO with thirty years of experience. |

Richtaiwo:Lmao you don’t know anything I grew up in the barracks and my dad retired as an AWO which is the highest rank in NCO. A 2nd lieutenant doesn’t earn more than an AWO and it’s been like that for a very long time. Go and do your findings of their basic salaries |
| Re: Proposed New Salary Structure For The Nigerian Military Personnel by Richtaiwo(m): 1:45pm On Mar 14 |
davillian:Your dad was an AWO and he told you he received more than a 2nd lieutenant? Go and ask again. Below is the salary structure of army, airforce and navy. You are free to continue the tales by moonlight. AWO is subordinate to 2nd lieutenant, there is no way an AWO earns higher than 2nd lieutenant, impossible.

Nigerian Police deserve a pay raise more than the Nigerian army that can't contend ragtag terrorists and bandits for decades now, their top echelon keep embezzling money meant for insurgency and national security. They need to pay Police Officers better than the Army. Soldiers should be made to earn more allowance only when they are deployed for combat assignments |
