CodeTemplarr:No, re-election bids have not always been like this. Throwing billions of naira at governors and clerics to get yourself re-elected despite being very unpopular is not normal. It simply shows that he is not seeking leadership for the sake of the people but for personal aggrandisement. This is where funds from subsidy savings and taxation are going towards while the 2024, 2025 and 2026 budgets remain unlargely unfunded.

This is in addition to the 250 billion naira each governor that decamps to the APC is getting. Bala Mohammed of all people is considering abandoning the PDP to join the APC. He met the president last week. I suppose we can now see why the 2024 budget was only funded to 34%, why the minister of finance could not give account of the billions of dollars the presidency has collected as loans. Why not a kobo of these loans were channeled to the purposes they were borrowed for. 2027 is all the president cares about and he will loot and bankrupt the country to pay anyone that will help him achieve his goals. This country is the global headquarters of poverty and yet this is what public funds are being used for. I don't think a more evil personality has ever been president of this country like the current president. |
