odaniel1:45K was not peanuts over 25 years ago when he was acting the role. That amount was the yearly rent for a 2 bedroom flat in Ojodu at about that time |

Fxwarrior:I understand. At least they sign a contract with some percentage clause attached even if it's a small percentage. Actors on the other hand are given a script to act within a defined period, paid for it and that's that. WAP can as well find another person to play Papa Ajasco character. Nobody can impersonate Rema. |

richiemcgold:Papa ajasco said they wanted him as papa ajasco for adverts. What's papa ajasco without the name? Besides, the appearance is what makes him papa ajasco. You can't be thor without the hammer. What papa ajasco could've done was to negotiate with wap on percentages for any gig that wants to use papa ajasco. |

ntyce:For where, ? you can't get #15m naira today from Lagos State after 30 years retirement. Lai Lai. Never. Do you know the minimum wage he was when he started with Lagos State employment 35 years ago ?? maybe about #250 naira per month. YES . Google is your friend. Go and google the minimum wage 35 years ago in Lagos State. It's on that bases his gratuity is calculated. Gratuity are calculated based on the minimum wage you were employed and nothing more. And that's why you see civil servants wanting to steal in one way or the other while in service because after service you are on your own. I can bet you paid ajasco grauituty after disengagement from Lagos State May not be up to #500k naira. Very poor. What can #500k buy today .? The only people that can enjoy gratuity are the people that are currently on minimum wage of #70,000 naira which in 30 years to come even though inflation would have caught up with it . I pity the man. People are blaming him because they are not in his shoes. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by marv1: 9:57am On Mar 18 |
You are talking like this because you are not in his shoes. How much was minimum wage #35 year ago maybe #250 naira per month. Google it bro. Imagine they used that to calculate your gratuity for retirement after 35 years how much do you think that will amount to ?? It's not up to #500k my friend. What can #500k do in this current economy. ? Are you winning me ?? I know of a neighbor of mine that retired last year from Lagos State after 35years . This is the experience. dododawa1: |

brain54: Stephen0mozzy:This is another possibility but b4 I agree with u on this I would like to hear from his wife and kids that their dad was an irresponsible man. As for working with lagos state and gratuity that one means nothing because it is next to nothing especially for a family man with kids unless he plans very well and invests in small properties in the early days if the money was kept in the bank it will be useless now. |

naptu2:I remember that sacking incident from years back. I think they later reconciled and he resumed the role. I also recall not been impressed by Femi Ogunrobi's portrayal of the character. Wale Adenuga is the copyright owner as you have rightly pointed out and the law is not emotional. He was being paid 45,000 per episode when the value of naira was way higher than it is now. He has no one to blame except himself for not utilising his fame to the best of his advantage. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by Ishilove: 10:29am On Mar 18 |
izombie:And this is part of the lack of proper management we are talking about. If he had tried to do this and Wale Adenuga refused, that would have been a different matter, but based on the narrative it seems no such effort was made. |

izombie:Abiodun Ayoyinka [not papa ajasco] is an educatd, old school entertainer and he understands IP ownership he is just playing to the gallery. as it is he may have a future in content creation seeing as he is now being videoed receiving cash for clicks |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by naptu2: 10:37am On Mar 18 |
richiemcgold:He only needed permission from WAP for adverts if he was using the Papa Ajasco character because the character belongs to Wale Adenuga. |

| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by gudtee: 11:27am On Mar 18 |
We need to be realistic here, Civil servant remains the poorest in this country except the ones with deals or runs. WAP claims, he (Papa Ajasco) worked and he was paid him but never mentioned how much and if the pay was reviewed in accordance with the economic reality. WAP mentioned other artist that worked for him, all the people he mentioned are living below average level while working for him, I have seen many of this guys on the street, trekking and looking tattered. The fact is if someone has been dedicated, honest and loyal to enrich and lift your brand, look beyond the peanut wages. Be kind please, don't just use people and dump them all in the name of at least I paid him wages. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by updatechange(m): 11:35am On Mar 18 |
richiemcgold:You clear about read to understand the context… his name, clothes, tie and wrapper are all WAP concepts and stays with WAP when papa Ajasco left, the other man that took over wasn’t even naturally bald… but he had to go bald to fit in the roll, if papa Ajasco wasn’t bald naturally, he would even have issues cutting a bald hair. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by GloriousGbola: 11:37am On Mar 18 |
richiemcgold:Let me explain it. Say you create a character who is a pastor pastor do good . You have a series featuring pastor do good and it becomes very popular. Then the actor for the pastor decides to perform in a advert for condoms. It features casual sex with multiple partners. Next thing you see is people on social media talk in about that immoral TV show with the ashewo pastor do good. It is not just about money, it is about protecting your brand. Over 20 years ago someone made a mario parody po-rn movie. Making parodies is legal so Nintendo which is presents itself as a family oriented brand bought the rights to the movie and proceeded to hunt down and destroy every copy of every video tape of the movie. Because they are not an adult entertainment company and their mascots are family friendly. For Abiodun Ayoyinka (not papa ajasco) papa ajasco is a hustle. For WAP it is his personal creation. |

jaxxy:Oh... No no. You misunderstood me, atleast. Note one's financial struggles doesn't always mean it was caused by irresponsible character. It could have easily been as a result of investments that didn't turn out as expected. Or not planning far ahead on how to keep expenditure (family, and living expense) way lower than income. |

ThothHermes:Same question we will be asking you later in life. Talking as if there are enough jobs in this country. trytillmake:how uch gratiuty do they pay. the problem with people like you is that you all overthink yourself and you assume too much in your head and it is people like you that fall for this kind of trap wich this papa Ajasco fell for. Gratuity may not be more than N4-N5M naira. what can that amount do after 35 years of service. No wonder most civil servenats steals before they are retired. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by fxexperts: 2:20pm On Mar 18 |
ntyce:And do you know the number of civil servets who are very corrupt. So corruption is the way of life now. there are many civil servents who are building houses everywhere and training their kids abroad and you will conclude that they are reling on their salaries. ntyce:Nothing we no go see from people like una. Where you for one see N15M. dey play you hear. |
| Re: Wale Adenuga Speaks On Papa Ajasco Controversy by fxexperts: 2:25pm On Mar 18 |
OriOko88:The problem with people like you is you do not read. try they read. WAP made fortune from the production and not the actors. They were only paid peanuts. this is a lesson to all 9-5 salary earners. victorVIC1:That is recently and what can N45K do for you in this current dispensation. i heard him also say N2500. you all keep lying to yourselves. |
The honest truth is actors are paid peanuts in Nollywood, period. a,d they are in a poor position too.
so why do they do poor jobs Music artistes create their songs nd can claim some rights, actors can't do the same. |

He wasn’t a very flexible actor, so he struggled to land roles outside the Papa Ajasco character. That’s the only conclusion I could draw from the whole situation. |
