for those using TrustBanc mmf,
pls how long does it take for money paid for investment to reflect on my Prime Pro TrustBanc mmf Account??
Re: Mutual Funds by freeman67:
Most times we don't read the terms and conditions on investment before accepting. When I opened Stanbic IBTC Asset Management account then, I think what was stated on the form I filled as number of days to expect funds after withdrawal was about 3-5 working days.

That said, consistently over time for me, they have been ok. On Monday 16/03/25 I made a withdraw request via the blue nest at about 7:15 AM. The money didn't drop instantly though but it came around 12:45 PM. Even after a message popped up when I submitted the request that it will take about 48 hours to it, I got it after about 5 hours 15 mins.

Meanwhile, United Capital where most times I had to start chatting them and mailing after request, where I always put extra efforts surprised me by sending the funds after 1 hour 30 mins of my request with no effort that same day.

For me, I understand that MMF account is different from a bank account right from the time I joined. However, I enjoy it too when I need money and it is released ontime. So what I do is that I ensured my security question and all what is required are accurately set up. Also, I do my withdrawal mostly first thing in the morning. I know that with Stanbic anything done after 12 or done on weekend and public holidays is likely to resort to a story and some back and forth. So to ensure a smooth sail, that's what I do.

Does anyone know if you can withdraw from GT money market funds within 30 days? And what’s the fee? And is it charged on the interest alone?

You are right, those calling numbers here are only trying to intimidation others. They are not inspiring anyone.

In the local assembly l worship, the set man of God would say application of wisdom is required even in testifying to the doing of God almighty especially as regards financial breakthrough.

For instance, if by God's help, one secures a multi million contract, one can just leave it at mult million or to say something like, l won a contract in multiple six zeros while testifying to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. The reason is, some people have been followed from church to their house for mentioning some amount in church.

The people calling figures in the realm of millions here are doing so because this is a faceless forum, if it were a physical meeting place, they would have been visited by people that need the money More than they do, for showing off all the time.
see eh, that's happening already abi shey dem never call you before beging for Money for school fees and the likes. Some no even know say some of us just dey try package; 50,000 naira no even dey account.

@freeman67, thank you for always offering objective perspectives on matters like this.

As mentioned earlier, there is an industry standard of up to 5 working days for processing withdrawals. This essentially means customers can escalate to regulators only after this period if the request remains unfulfilled. However, with advancements in technology, we all know from experience that, under normal circumstances, withdrawals are often processed the same day, especially when requests are made before the cutoff time.

It is also important to understand that an MMF is not the same as funds held in a money deposit bank (MDB).
While fund managers typically maintain some level of liquidity to meet redemptions, this is usually kept minimal to optimize returns. Holding excessive cash would ultimately reduce yield for investors.

As investors, we should allow for occasional operational hiccups and avoid making withdrawal requests at the last minute where possible.

That said, there has been noticeable improvement across the industry. While there is still room for growth, it is clear that progress has been made; we are not there yet, but we are not where we used to be. Let’s continue to stay informed and well-guided.

The account number u covered is your wallet account number. Once u transfer funds to it, it will reflect, then u can purchase any package with it. But I will recommend funding stanbic wallet during working hours, it tends to reflect faster within few minutes. Non working hours can take up to 1 hour, that's what I have observed.

what's happening ain't any different from entitlement mentality. even in normal day to day dealings with people, when you go the extra mile to do soemthing even when you shouldn't, after a while, it becomes more like their right so much the day you fail to, or delay, na wahala.

Also most people in here don't bother reading at all because they know whatever question they ask, they get responses without being penalized hence we keep explaining 1 thing multiple times.

meanWhile, when I talk say most people would use MMF like MMM, una hala me. Now una don see

Yes ooo. They are advising it. The minimum from the issuer is N5,000,000 it's them that want to collate retail investors funds to invest on their behalf.

For someone that has the N5,000,000 complete, it's better to invest it directly with via the direct agents or arrangers for the issuer. All bills and charges on commercial papers bar WHT is taken borne by the issuer. However, some sub agents sometimes look for avenue to reap you off. Like bluenest for example that will charge you N53,000 as management fee for the 5M.

To redeem more than 5m, use their redemption form. You can download from their website or ask the customer care to send. Complete and send back to them. With the form you can withdraw any amount.

Thank you Senior man . Can they transfer all the funds in my mmf to commercial paper? I want to buy the trustbanc CP. Or it must first be deposited into my account.

Based on regulations, redemption only goes to the registered bank account number; moreover, the cash does not come from Stanbic, but rather from the custodian bank. However, I don't know if there has been any flexibility regarding the destination of withdrawn funds.

You can place a call to the customer care to know what is obtainable regarding your intention.

Is it not better to invest in Trustbanc MMF than the CP since it has a better interest rate, however I know this rate can fluctuate. Is there any other benefit?

trustbanc mmf rate might be 19.9 but their CP is 19 but compounded. You might get up to 23% at the end of the year on CP.

whether the mmf is compounded or NOT.

Re: Mutual Funds by Calinson2000: 7:23pm On Mar 19
I think what I understand from what was said is that CP can be compounded to a rate of 23% , however their MMF is compounded quarterly.
So how is CP compounded, monthly or quarterly? I know it is given at a discounted rate.
Re: Mutual Funds by sky404: 8:09pm On Mar 19
what do you even mean by compounded Quarterly??

cos what I know of mmf allover is that,
every new day,
a percentage of your existing balance is added to the existing balance in your account.
Be it TrustBanc mmf OR Stanbic IBTC mmf, the practice is the same.
The difference is in the percentage interest.
while Stanbic IBTC mmf Gives 15.24%,
TrustBanc mmf Gives 19.96%
