Equity is fun sha for those who have mind. Put some money there on feb 18 and it has returned x3 of what i would have gotten via MMF even with STL/trustbanc rate (on paper, as it can still crash tommorow) .

Diversification and personal need is key though. Money in equities must not be what u need immediately, keep a portion of ur funds in mmf for rainy days.

Please I have 3 questions

1. While opening the trust banc money market fund this morning, I saw where they wrote a fee of 1.4%, and then in the Stanbic ibtc commercial paper with trust banc I saw this feeling (shown in the screenshot attached highlighted with yellow arrow. What's the difference between the 2 fees.

2. Also what is the interest on the trustbanc money market fund this morning.

3. Which is better between the commercial paper with Stanbic Ibtc and the trust banc money market fund.
Thank you

CP is better . Trust banc mmf rate is 19.9 and CP is like 23%. If you put 500k in their mmf you get 599k and if you put 500k in CP you get 617k . The fee you highlighted is just a small portion stanbic charges for helping Trust banc sell their CP

but equity has always given more than 50 percent profit p.a. It's just the up and down of the market that scares people. But 50 percent profit is sure at the end of the year. Except this election coming next year will affect the stock market negatively
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 9:53am On Mar 20
I followed already, home and away equity. Na champions league equity I'm diving into.

If you have GT banking app , it's easy and smooth 17.5 percent. Or use cowrywise for trust banc mmf for 19.9 percent .

There's no option of selecting individual mmf on Cowrywise any longer. You're given a combined portfolio at the current rate of 16.88%.

This is not necessarily so. Mmf rate fluctuates and even so because they get compounded quarterly or monthly, the effective yield is usually more than the rate.

For example, say the nominal rate stays at 19.9% for the year, the effective yield will be 21.44. So a 500k investment will amount to 607,200.

Of all the fund managers I have used for mmf so far, only first ally tick every of these requirements. You can even withdraw on holidays. I made withdrawals yesterday & received my funds immediately. I don't think any other fund manager can do that.

@Mixology, you can click on the second link in my signature to go with Norrenberger or download myinvestar app powered by First Ally from the Play Store, use SA-Emma as your referral code. Your expectations are basic obligations of Fund Managers.

By the way, I hope you have the investment objective that will enable you to be focused and know exactly the type of investment instruments to stick with.

I no get referral code o, just sharing my experience. The daily interest rate hardly go below 17%. Mostly 18%. Anyone using mmf as emergency savings need to have a portion of their funds in first ally. I don't know how they do it, but these guys withdrawal fast pass opay. Even on holidays. When u subscribe, it starts running immediately, nothing like after 12 hours. All these old generation bank fund managers should learn from these guys abeg

If u are trying equity, I will recommend GT equity. They seem to have a good balance between gains & loss. Also of u can lose 25-50% of what ever amount u are investing & wait it out to recover, then u are good to go.

Currently I use only first ally just for emergencies. I used a couple of others in the past, but didn't have patience for mmf. I started my investment journey with cryptto, it really trained my risk appetite so high. I'm majorly into equity. Using more than 5 fund managers for equity.
