Oh Great Educated African Scholar!!!

thank you for the eduka-shun grin grin grin

pardon my ignorance, i forgot the ancestral cultural group wasn't african.
funny how you didn't talk about your ancestors and their practice of Ogunwejemo amongst others, but oh well...

according to you, you come from a long line of saints.

Europeans openly acknowledge their past barbaric parctices
uneducated Nigerians acknowledge our past barbaric practices and own the positive aspect of our lineage.

But then again, a proud educated black man like yourself come from a long line of saints.

Normally I don’t engage people like you because you are irredeemable…

But my response is for others especially the younger ones may come across such ignorant mindset ..

You came and lied and claimed I should celebrate white people for stopping my people from killing twins, I tackled everything you said and of course, I never expected you to reason but to argue endlessly for ego sake..

Your ancestors may be killers of twins… but sorry, mine weren’t and there’s no way me or any sensible Yoruba person out there should accept that…

And shuuu, go worshippp your white masters…

There's nothing like this in ozoro. I schooled in that community for good two years and even lived amongst the indigenes. And there was no time I ever experienced this kind of festival. And theres no nook and cranny of ozoro which I don't know.
So I don't know where this video came from undecided

Sister caaz, abi you don hear of this kind festival for the whole of isoko before cuz I never hear of am.

Re: Raping Festival In Ozoro, Delta State (Video) by Spiff20(m): 2:41pm On Mar 20
How come no one has been able to capture an actual scene of a girl being raped? All I see is them dragging women about and the women trying to escape. If you have any video pls post let me confirm that we've finally lost it, otherwise I'm just going to pretend this never happened.

My original post referred to practices in pre-colonial Africa, not to any specific cultural group, so I’m not sure why you feel targeted.

That said, I agree that younger users on this forum should adopt a fact-based perspective rather than one shaped by grandiose narratives or an exaggerated view of our ancestral past that promotes past glory.

That is the kind of uninformed mindset that should be avoided.

Have a good day sir.

Stop derailing yourself

You came here and said our ancestors were killing twins and ironing the chest of females…

Didn’t you claim that? You are the one exaggerating what happened in one remote part of the south south part of Nigeria to generalize to all Africans…

Pre colonial Africa— yes there were rituals but the worst human sacrifices happened in the same place and people you are saying we should be grateful to ….
Do you really understand yourself?

Are you learned? Because you are even contradicting yourself at this point

Ok.

It would be interesting though, to know how to rank human sacrifices on a scale.

What is troubling though is that these things are still ongoing today in some shape or form. A high ranking Oba died last year or so and several posters here were defending some of the burial 'rites'. undecided After going through some of those threads, I just comot hand. undecided Nigeria is definitely deeper than it looks.

Another Egnorant one…

Before colonization- we never had suicide bombers… thanks to foriegn religion called Islammm

we have never known peace.. see blood shed and violence…and terrorism… Shebi you are enjoying the result today… black man..

Before colonization, Africans didn’t import food, your ancestors were able to feed themselves and clothe themselves and they had their own tools… at least they were the big boys of their time - considering the technology in the world then

Post colonization, your people are the poorest people in the world, you import all your food and the cloth you are wearing today is imported- you can’t even clothe yourself

Thanks to colonization and foreign religions..

And who told you there aren’t ritual killings still ongoing as at today in white man country—? Are you unaware of Epstein file?
Yet, in all these you listed, many are running away from practicing your so called traditional religion?
Let me also remind you that this same practice of banning females and strangers from going about their daily activities is still practiced all over southwest Nigeria where you came from. What's the difference btw Oro festival and this one in Ozoro?
Your people still kill the Oba's PA if the king dies, is that not a barbaric practice?
I still maintain that there are a few traditional practices we can uphold because they align with humanity and civilization but many of them should be thrown out and stopped.

Yeah, thanks to post colonialization

Blame this generation of black Africans, the most barbaric the world has ever seen… yet the most religious

The people burning people today are 99% christians and Muslims - same people celebrating colonialization

Who were those that burnt Deborah ?

Lmao

The people even doing this festival- I can bet 99% are Christians going to church..

So my question to you, did colonization and foreign religion make them better?

This news is so real and I have viewed several videos from the person status. The person told me that announcement was not made that she bump into the news that girls should not come out on someone's status that was how she knew.

Then tomorrow una go say let tourism thrive in Nigeria. "Why are foreign tourists not visiting the country?"

Women propel the industry, and with the Internet, they can read about every happening in a location before they set foot in.

Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal keep winning.

These are the people who come online to utter that we are intelligent grin grin

Imagine Barbados and the Bahamas organising such a festival?

Chai! All Black people are not the same.

First- I didn’t say anyone should practice any religion ..

My point is correcting lies and misinformation about my ancestors …

The fact is that this generation of black Africans are more evil than the ancestors they try to call evil..

Our ancestors had more peace in them by far than this generation… we never knew terrorism, banditry to this scale …
Virginity was a pride then and hard work was celebrated
Welcome to post colonization where a thief is celebrated, yahoo is a flex, bbl and Olosho is the new currency…the bigger the thief, the bigger the celebration - and yet, you all practice Islam and Christianity

The so called obas are people going to mosque and church.. modern day Oba that has picture of white mary and white Jesus in his palace or modern day Oba that learn Arabic to pray to Arabic gods…

Enjoy your post colonization but stop the misinformation about the ancestors- they were far better off…

Terrible and barbaric practice. A big disrespect to the womenfolk. What were the men, I mean the real men, doing when this heinous stuff was happening?
Women should always protected from vile men. That's how the muslims do. All uncultured traditions practised the name of indigenous culture should be banned
What concern Muslim with Delta state? Why do you have to project your wrong acts on Muslims?

Today is eid, our women are enjoying good meals and having nice time with their families.

Alhamdulillah for the mercy of Islam.

We will never forget how you dragged and burned Deborah Samuel

There’s no way that stain is coming off you people anytime soon

And don’t claim innocent here…

We had those that did the real killing and burning of that girl
And we have majority of you that kept quit and refused to condemn it…

So none of you is innocent and shall be free of her blood

Even with any notice. This festival should be banned. How do you notify people coming into the community that evil day.

This is so irritating.
This is not tradition but barbarism.
The State House of Assembly should suspend that Isoko North L.G Council Chairman.
Member representing that constituency in the SHoA should be equally suspended with immediate effect.
The king of that kingdom should be dethroned.
The CP there too should be sanctioned except he is not up to 2 years there.

Since they said it's their tradition and customs,so I want to believe the festival is a yearly event
And if it's a yearly event, that means all the people I mentioned should be made to face the law for aiding and abbeting such a heinous crime against humanity for so long in this 21st century.
How can a community with both political, religious, traditional and security leaders sit and watch or organized and supervised animalistic festivals called "RAPING FESTIVAL"?
That means they might have celebrated it year before last, those I mentioned didn't do anything about it,last year they celebrated it too, and those so called leaders and security chiefs didn't see anything bad in rap..ing innocent ladies, then this year they do it again and was posted in social media before the so called Council Chairman come out to condemn it only in the mouth.
So,if it was not posted in the social media this year,it would have just continued like that till thy kingdom come?
Nonsense......Leaders!
