Salihu Tanko Yakasai (Peacock @dawisu) was the special adviser on new media to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano. Like his father Tanko Yakasai (who was Shagari's presidential liaison to the National Assembly), he is very outspoken. He doesn't hesitate to speak his mind. This has often gotten him into trouble (just like his father often got into trouble).


He annoyed some Kanawa because he defended his boss, Abdullahi Ganduje during the dollargate scandal.

He also annoyed some Kanawa because of his criticism and mocking of the former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, when the Emir had problems with Governor Ganduje.


He was suspended from office in October 2020 for criticising President Buhari over the End SARS protest.

Elrufai was not on the ballot. The job he did for Tinubu cannot be quantified by the number of votes Tinubu got in Kaduna. 29% in Kaduna in an election where a formidable Atiku was also contesting is a huge win. Anyways, Elrufai and Atiku are now in the same party. Kaduna is a cosmopolitan state just like Lagos and votes will always get split but it is still the political capital of the North. Southern Kaduna voted Obi while Northern Kaduna splitted their votes between Atiku, Tinubu and Kwankwaso. Tinubu won only 4 states out of 17 Southern states. It was the margins he got across the North due to the efforts and messaging of the likes of Elrufai that made him president. Were the North supposed to love him more than he is loved at home? He was the only major presidential candidate that failed to win his own state in 2023.

You are reasoning right, you are a realist.....it isn't that anyone hates obi but the reality on ground doesn't favor him especially the type of unprincipled politics he is playing........you need to also add that northern votes for adc will be out the window immediately obi gets the ticket......so the opposition is in a cul de sac right now.

I don’t think anyone before or after Tinubu will do worse than him....nobody. Tinubu will leave office and go down in history as the worst president Nigeria has ever had.
It's a given

One thing I have noticed about the current political atmosphere in the nation is how disgruntled the south west and Yorubas are with Tinubu . Only a wicked and self centred politician who is after only making money from Tinubu and APC will come out and say the Yorubas are happy. And majority of Yorubas are saying they won't vote for Tinubu ALTHOUGH THIS MAY CHANGE AT THE LAST MINUUTE.
the second thing is the growing number of northerners moving to adc and realigning with adc and Atiku .
If the truth is to be told Tinubu has a lot of work to do , it is not only about governor s or senators defecting to PC , that won't guarantee him anything , he has to work harder in convincing the people that he merits their votes .
