If it was due to financial pressure will they be able to pay up to 7 months salary?
What is wrong with Nigerians always imagining what is not there and believing their own imaginations?
If we check now you go be Obidient.

The article even clearly stated the companies growth over the last few years
Yet you went ahead to imagine the negative.

That's the funniest part, they always imagine the negative and focus on it.
They see a positive news, think of a negative thing and run with it.

FG increase state allocation, they say the president is trying to bribe the governors.

They are so annoying, I don't read their comments again

If it's not financial pressure, then it's AI.

AI is coming for everybody's job, it's just a matter of time. And there's nothing u can do about it, simply get ready.
Including marketing?

So what is the salary of a marketing employee with the company? If it is, say, 500K for those in Lagos, a 7-month severance payment is fair enough.

AI is gradually taking people's jobs and we think it's normal again? In 10 years time AI will take at least 40% of the available jobs

The evil wind of the mandate have started.
Remember it was forecasted that more Nigerians will slide into poverty in 2027.
For the first time Nigeria now have more poor people than India.
Let them keep deceiving themselves that Nigeria is much better than 10 years ago.
If you like keep singing on your mandate we shall collapse.

Nothing to do with government policy, the only part of government I see here is the weak employment laws to protect employees from arbitrary dismissal.

I see a tech start up that was not properly ae up, who bit more than they can chew and looked for the quickest way to cut cost which is always lay offs

Anyone doing business with Kuda should just pull out this move shows they are not a progressive modern company if they can't balance their books without mass layoffs.

If you use an LLM for architecture and engineering you are taking a major risk as the designs I've seen done by AI models are optimised for efficiency, they don't necessarily address human ergonomic needs or general structural requirements.
I don't see LLMs taking engineering design and Architecture jobs.

It was due to financial pressure.
The 7months payoff is just bribe so the affected staff won't institute legal action against them. And you read in the article that it comes with conditions.

As for obidents, they are far smarter than you guys that support every rubbish of govt. Govt are voted to better the lives of the people including your life, so the best way to do that is keep them on their toes which obidents are doing.
If everyone starts singing hallelujah like you, in the next 10yrs, this country will be doom.

It's financial pressure Oga. Kuda have been making series of mistakes for some times now, and this is also one of them. Ask yourself their market share 4 years ago and now to judge. And no, they're not paying anyone 7 months salary in lieu of voluntary resignation, it's 4 months highest. They're avoiding lawsuits.
And it's not AI either. They still have over 500 staff across several countries. It's not about Nigeria

It's 4 months and that's the highest, depending on your official notice period.
Kuda survives mostly on Nigerian market, so if they struggle to keep reasonable market share in Nigeria, this situation is inevitable. Even staff members in the UK and south Africa tasted from the breakfast.

How much is a software engineer earning in kuda that they'll be paying a marketing employee 500k? Company that have frozen promotions and salary increment for about 2 years now? You guys just like to comment on things you have no idea about.

We now have more people to join the real protest when it starts. This is a good development. The same thing that was done to the Hausas is being played on all of us unfortunately some heediots still don't understand.

They will impoverish you so that they can be in control. Nigeria has minerals in quantum but only a few are benefiting, yet they keep taking from the poor.

I hope their eyes won't open when it's too late.

In your 9-5, never forget that these companies are never too busy to look for themsleves just as you should look for yourselves first. You are always considerate of them but they never are when they want to take decisions that benefit them. The concept of job security has evolved and it is now survival of the fittest. So never slack on any job, keep working on yourself so you are constantly attractive in the job market.
Correct advice bro. One bottle of hero for you for this comment.

When they say go to school, so many olodo will think school is a scam. What does a private business that also lays off staff in a developed country have to do with Tinubu?

Ogeni it is not Tinubu who will force people to upgrade themselves. If they like to remain where they are, time will pass them by.

Melagros:
COMRADES, honestly; this is not the right time to invest in Nigeria that's why you see this layoffs here and there
This has nothing to do with Nigeria. The same way those staffs were laid off. it will shock you that same Kuda will employ more staffs into other roles. but the media will not post about it. dey play.
