A 38-year-old woman from Uruala, Ideato North LGA in Imo State, Juliet Igwe, has been arrested for brutally torturing her 5-year-old house help, Onyinyechi.

She allegedly:
- Poured boiling water on the little girl’s hands, peeling off the skin from her fingers
- Used an open candle flame to burn the child’s private parts (genitals)
- Inflicted multiple burns and injuries on her body

The suspect, who has three children of her own, claimed the child stole food. She was paraded by the Imo State Police and later remanded in prison on charges of attempted murder and grievous harm.

This is child abuse at its worst. A 5-year-old should never be working as a domestic help.

Justice must be served — no excuses, no leniency.

Please don't adopt a child if you can't treat the child the way you want your own child to be treated

Shame on those who use little children as nannies, house helpers, or in any form of hard labor. Shame!!

can't we report this there is a small girl doing house help in Lagos, the girl is 9 and the craziest part is the lady who took her to the work as already collected 700k

This is wickedness at the highest level. The parents of the girl needs to be arrested too, for releasing a 5-year old to work as housemaid.

Some women have a terrible sadistic impulse towards children not of their womb who co habit with them. Especially where there is any possibility of competition with their children, however remote.

They can never beat the allegation.

But this doesn't seems like a recent case.
