Kogi Polytechnic Lecturer, Anslem Ojodomo, Dies In Class by QuinQQ(op): 2:56am On Mar 28
Lecturer Anslem Ojodomo collapsed and died while delivering a lecture on Thursday, March 26, throwing students into panic.
Medical personnel made efforts to save him after he was rushed to hospital but later confirmed him dead.
Staff member raised concerns after his death became the third recorded loss within six weeks at the institution.

The community of Kogi State Polytechnic has again been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a lecturer, Mr. Anslem Ojodomo.

Mr Ojodomo’s death comes just a month after another lecturer, Dr. Barnabas Akuba, died in February shortly after completing his PhD programme.

Ojodomo was said to have collapsed and died on Thursday while delivering lecture to students.

”The incident occurred during a classroom session. The lecturer suddenly slumped while addressing the students, throwing the class into confusion and panic,” a source within the school said.

”He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life.”

Sources within the institution also disclosed that there is now apprehension within the school community, as Anslem’s death was the third in six weeks since the new Rector, Prof. Salihu Sanusi, assumed office on February 11.

”It is more worrisome that both Anslem and Barnabas died after defending their PhD thesis.

”Anslem was in a meeting some hours before going for the lecture. We cannot imagine that a man who was bubbling and full of life in the meeting is now dead,” a member of staff of the institution stated.

The management of the Kogi State Polytechnic had yet to issue a statement on the incident as of press time.

May his soul find peace. Nigerian lecturers are the real definition of hard survivors. The chances of surviving may even drop significantly for those who do not really understand the job's hazards and still engage carelessly in some "intensive" lifestyles.

I don't know. Three lecturers in 6 weeks and we're in Africa. I'd say I smell a rat.

Especially as all this started happening right after the new rector assumed office:
"Anslem’s death was the third in six weeks since the new Rector, Prof. Salihu Sanusi, assumed office on February 11."

Then again, with our poor health maintenance system... I wonder if health maintenance is even part of the agenda in our institutions

My brother, I'm a lecturer myself and we recently lost a colleague. People don't understand the pressures involved. They think it's all fun and games. May his soul rest in peace

If 3 death has been recorded so far. That call for investigation using autopsy to get cause of death not attaching any mumu spirituality.

Before End time and hell fire people will flood everywhere with their unproven theories.

Unproven and ridiculous theories they'd be shouting with authority!😅
As for autopsy, this being Nigeria, it will be botched either intentionally or unintentionally - through either incompetence (unintentionally) or corruption (intentionally)

What do you expect? US is a super capitalist country - so no free lunch. But they do have good health-care - better than Canada and UK

It's my state and I know those lecturers more than anybody here, both the ones in FUL and Poly are all rogues and they deserve whatever is coming their way.

You think it's ordinary that God had to take him in front students while teaching them.

I wish I could say the things those lecturers do to students, I am a victim and there many others like me whose life they have destroyed our of sheer inhumanity.
