Like bro, I love pixels to death, but I'd use them as a secondary phone to use to show off, not daily drive.
You're discouraging those of us who are on this thread to learn more about Pixels before buying them 😭

Some of you here are funny.

Is it the same Pixel am using or another one.

I use Pixel 5 and I game very well on it. Yes, it tends to heat up a little but definitely, it is a perfect daily driver for me.

I do photo and video editing on it and it comes out well. Talkmore of its AI prowess.

And with every new model, the tensor processor keeps getting better.

I will recommend Pixel for anyone as a daily driver

Pixel 5 is snapdragon remember?
The tensor is just another mediatek, that heat up on heavy usage.

Tensor isn't another Mediatek. Tensor is Exynos. Pixel tends to heat up a lot when you're on mobile network.

Dude, you're using the pixel 5 that didn't use the tensor chip. The pixel 6 and 6 pro were the first devices from Google to use tensor, so I no wetin you dey follow us drag lol.

Again, nobody said pixels aren't good phones. I only said the way they get hot pretty quickly, you can't daily drive them like that. I have used almost all the pixels except 10. Bro, ordinary 1 hour of Google Meets you will see "phone temperature too high" or something like that, then it trips off. Let's not even call CoD or other heavy games.

Pixel 5 is an amazing phone, but battery life Na die. Pretty sure you charge that phone like 3 times before the day ends. Lovely phone regardless.

What's the difference grin I just used that as an example in terms of heating up.

But would advise someone who's a regular phone user, who just flips but spends time on social media apps, web browsing, light gaming and work on Google docs, to get the pixel 8 pro? I just want to have a flagship experience but I've been indecisive, and I'm scared to go Samsung cos of screen wahala. I've been here for more than a month and I keep seeing conflicting reviews on the Pixel. Or are the iphones a better bargain in my case?

I use a Pixel 8, and it's my daily driver +...
If I had the finances then, I would have gotten pixel 8 pro. So don't look at the things they are saying.
You need to see people's eyes that pop to see my phone everytime, especially at occasions where I'm made to take pictures with friends.
You will enjoy your unique phone because 95% of people around you aren't using it.

If you're using them for the aforementioned, then by all means get the pixel 8 pro. It will do everything you've mentioned without breaking a sweat. The pixel 8 pro is actually one of my faves. Very nice one with good camera too.

As a Pixel user, I will encourage you to go ahead and get a Pixel.

Forget what some people are saying here, some of them bought a phone that has probably been refurbished so MANY times.

The Pixel is so smooth and unbelievable, you will be so glad you bought it. I have recommended it to a lot of people and they all liked it. Smooth software, Strong hardware, no screen issues and very responsive.

You will like it bro.

Omo, so you think people wey dey tell am otherwise have only used refurbished pixels?

Well you be Nigerian, and a Nigerian will always be the ones to find ways to put down their brothers in order to raise themselves up, so no surprises there.

Anyways, to the guy wey wan buy am, I don give you my own advice.

Buy for light use. If you want to do heavy duty stuff on a pixel, you will cry. Go to YT and binge-watch reviews then make you decision.

No follow who dey use pixel come do NL, Facebook and candy crush take make your decision oh. Lol

Auskyd:
it just means it is the best that the OEM has to offer for that year.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

The best OEM a smartphone company has to offer in that year, and yet it isn't a daily driver!

A daily driver is what you used everyday for most of your normal routine tasks- calls, messages, chats, note…

A "daily driver" is about reliability, software longevity, and ecosystem integration.

Auskyd:
Flagship status does not make it a daily driver.
😁😁😁
The unwritten rule is that:
All flagships devices are daily drivers.
Not all daily drivers are flagships.

Auskyd:
I cannot game nor do heavy tasks on a phone, so wetin i come dey use am do? Pixels get hot and laggy with extended heavy use.
Pixels are not build for that.
Even iPhone 14 Pro Max, mate of Pixel 7 Pro lags, stay hot and throttle at extended gaming usage and high gaming settings. Although it's 30% better than the Pixel.

Auskyd:
if you are not buying them for pictures and cute A.I gimmicks, stay away.
You can buy them for:
Pure android skin or UI
Customization, to an even extent.
Flexibility.
Performance (latest Pixel's) 🤠🤠.

My pixel 9 pro xl is my daily driver, I use it more than my iPhone 16 pro max. Trust me when I tell you the pixel experience is awesome. I play codm on both devices but I prefer playing it on my pixel over the iPhone

Omo. Again, I am not saying the pixel is bad by any metric, for real.

It's an awesome brand, with awesome phones, heck, I'd even use another one right now if you give me.

I'm just saying it's a brand that is not known for performance like Oneplus or Samsung, or even iPhones.

Doesn't take away from the fact that is is still very very capable. Far from it. It is.

Wahala.

Omo, if I'm not doing heavy tasks on my phones, nor can I play performance-hesvy games on my phone, what do I need it for?

There's nothing extraordinary about using the pure skin of android. Nothing special, it's very meh honestly. I've used a wide variety of android skins and other than little gimmicks here and there, they are all the same.

Again, abeg abeg abeg. I'm not putting pixels down, please.

But they aren't performance-centric. AI, photos, etc, they are awesome.

Battery life? Gaming? GPU intensive tasks? I won't pick a pixel over a Oneplus or Samsung, or even an honor phone.

You are actually correct. Pixel is not for heavy users..... Until the camera actually stopped recording during an important task due to heat before he will know or airplane icon suddenly appear during a long phone call

Bro, my team meetings will just end abruptly and the phone will shut down every single process it was handling before.

This is pixel 8 pro.

I ensure I don't stay on calls more than 2 hours af a stretch. I must switch to my laptop or secondary device, else the phone will just die on you lol.

Thank God another person dey confirm am.

I avoid updates entirely and stick with the preinstalled operating system. Sometimes they mess up a lot of stuffs, even my iPhone is still on ios 18. I will rather swap to the recently released model of the device than upgrade from the preinstalled OS.

Hian, please o, not selling mine yet. There is no black color in iPhone 17 pro series probably the next one😂🏃
