A man once asked him how he can make eternal life, and his response was keep the commandments.

Jesus' death & resurrection doesn't give you liberty to sin,

his coming was to reconcile you to God, and to show you how to make heaven. You can't know more than Christ himself on why he came to die,

and Christ never said his death means God overlooks our sins.
