Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti state, says Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is the national leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fayose spoke on Sunday at the PDP national convention held at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.

The former governor said delegates from Ekiti were fully represented at the convention, adding that the state delegation comprised 88 delegates

“Yes, we are here. We are 88. There is only one PDP,” Fayose said.

The former governor said members of the party must respect court rulings relating to its affairs.

“The moment we have a pronouncement of the court, we must abide by it. Sometimes we demean the judiciary by ourselves. We can appeal a judgment,” he said

Fayose described Wike as a leading figure within the PDP, adding that the minister’s position in the party was earned through his contributions.

“Today, we are having our convention ably led the national leader of our party, Nyesom Wike, and we made him so because of his contributions. He leads, and we follow,” Fayose said.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are currently present at the event.

Are you sure,he also wasn't having any of byhari throughout his 8 years......fayose is one of the most consistent politicians you have in this country.....he could have moved to apc which is most convenient ut stayed in pdp despite all the trouble.....something atiku and obi couldn't do.

When you allow 'a' money bag to completely carry the responsibilities of a party, be ready to dance towards his tune and destruction of the party.

When PDP still had up to 15 Govs and several legislators, instead for all of them to be funding the party collectively, they sat back and allowed crook to take over entire structure, taking it back now becomes unrealistic dream.

If they could desert Jonathan quickly as soon as he lost election or leave Buhari when he handed over and joined the Tinubu bandwagon, you should know that their loyalty only lies to their bellies. These are Presidents o, not Ministers. Governors have told us the same thing that once they leave office, they are deserted. Let Tinubu remove you from that post and you will see who are those following you.

Fayose started having issues with Obj in his first term and since then he has never been his friend. Fayose is known for his bluntness. He used all his life and tenure to attack Buhari while he was the president.

Accepting people as your leader is a very strong loyalty in politics.

The aim of Wike's faction of the PDP is simple: to adopt Tinubu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. Then, in 2031, the party will return to its default mode. Nothing more, nothing less.
