Let there be peace

Let everyone do whatever that works for them

Instead of fighting, explain why you think a certain investment is better than the other and let everyone pick their choice

Thanks

I was highly disappointed seeing that post without no full disclosure.
That's why I noted the liquidity of the instrument and refrained from further comments when emmasoft was mentioning dividend chase

I suggested earlier in the year that Equity and it followers should open their own thread, which was done. It beat my imagination that Equity is still causing fight on this thread.

But then, it is in the nature of the black man not to follow established order. We are uncoordinated and we lack decorum. In my next life, l'm definitely not going to be born in Africa much less the killing field called Nigeria.

Hope you're very much aware a lot of people wouldn't understand what you did above ?
To anyOne not understanding what the above meant, Please stay away from anything Equity if you can't afford to loose PART or ALL of your money. You better remain with Money Market Funds, Trasury bills, FGB bonds. Even Commercial Paper should be a NO go area except you really trust the company would deliver and even at that, don't invest more than 10% of the total capital on it.

the beauty of MMF is strong capital preservation and low risk,my account officer called me 3 months ago and was begging me what happened to the money I normally keep in my savings account? She was asking me for forgiveness if there is any way she must have offended me🤣🤣 that I should bring back the money 🤣🤣I laugh she don't know 🤣😂

For anyone who has withdrew money from Trustbanc mmf, is it swift?
Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 12:33am On Mar 31
INVESTMENT IS LIKE MARRIAGE

Investment is like marriage; no two are the same; the principles are the same, but the application differs from one marriage to another. We may invest in the same instrument, but the outcome could be completely different based on the application of the principles governing such investment.

Marriage and investment share a deeper similarity than you think.
Both are long-term commitments that demand wisdom, patience, and intentional effort to succeed.
Just as in marriage, where emotions alone are not enough to sustain a lifelong union, investment also cannot be driven by excitement or trends alone. Feelings may initiate the journey, but principles sustain it. In marriage, love must be supported by understanding, communication, trust, and sacrifice. Likewise, in investment, enthusiasm must be guided by knowledge, discipline, risk assessment, and consistency.

In marriage, choosing a partner without a proper understanding of their values, character, and vision can lead to future conflict. In the same way, investing without proper research into the business, market conditions, or financial instruments (due diligence) can result in losses. Due diligence in both cases is not optional; it is essential.

Another striking similarity is commitment through seasons. Every marriage goes through phases, times of joy, growth, difficulty, and even uncertainty. The couples that endure are those who remain committed, adapt, and work through challenges. Investments also experience cycles - bull markets, bear markets, downturns, volatility, and recovery periods. Successful investors are those who do not panic during downturns but remain steady, review their strategy, and stay focused on long-term goals.

Communication plays a vital role in marriage, just as monitoring and review are critical in investment. A healthy marriage requires regular conversations, reassessment of goals, and mutual understanding. Similarly, investments must be reviewed periodically to ensure they are still aligned with one’s financial objectives. Ignoring either can lead to disconnection in marriage or investment losses.

Sacrifice is another shared principle. In marriage, both partners must give up certain personal comforts or preferences for the sake of the relationship. In investment, one often sacrifices immediate gratification (delayed gratification) for future financial security. The ability to delay gratification is key to success in both areas.

Trust is also fundamental. In marriage, trust builds intimacy and stability. In investment, trust must be placed in sound principles, credible institutions, and well-researched decisions, not blindly, but wisely. Once broken, trust in either context can be difficult to rebuild.
Moreover, diversification in investment can be likened to balance in marriage. A wise investor does not put all resources into one venture. Similarly, a healthy marriage is not built on just one dimension (such as finances or romance) but on multiple pillars: emotional connection, shared values, spiritual alignment, and mutual respect.

Finally, both marriage and investment reward patience. Quick gains are rare and often unsustainable. Strong marriages are built over years of commitment, just as wealth is built over time through consistent and disciplined investment.

In conclusion, marriage and investment both require:
- Careful selection at the beginning
- Continuous nurturing and evaluation
- Patience through changing seasons
- Discipline and sacrifice
- Long-term vision and commitment

When approached with wisdom and intentionality, both can yield rich, lasting rewards. But when entered carelessly, both can become sources of deep regret.

Invest wisely as we get into the next quarter.

please House,
I completed a redemption form to withdraw all my money in Stanbic IBTC mmf yesterday morning,
& my redemption form was received & acknowledged by them,
& they said I should Go & wait for three to five working days to receive the money in my Account.

But I just logged into my Stanbic IBTC mmf Account this morning & saw that interest has been added again on my yesterday's balance,
as if I didn't even fill a redemption form to withdraw all my money,

pls should I worry about this??
is it that they've NOT started processing my request??
cos my balance keeps adding daily interest as if I didn't even make any request to redeem all the money in there.

somebody should help explain this to me.
who has successfully withdrawn all his money in Stanbic IBTC mmf before?

So as you are waiting for 3 to 5 days. Is your profit supposed to be stopped?? Your profit stopped accumulating the moment the money gets in your account.

@sky404, kindly note that redemption from an MMF is not the same as withdrawing funds from a MDB. There are backend processes involved, and all relevant parties, particularly the Trustees and the custodian bank, must be duly engaged. This explains the time frame provided to investors who wish to redeem their funds.

Also, please note that accrued interest is automated. As long as the funds remain in your investment account, interest will continue to accrue. It will only stop once the funds are fully exited from your investment account, even if they have not yet been credited to your bank account.

The 3–5 working days timeline is an industry standard. It represents the period after which an investor can escalate if the redemption has not been completed.

Additionally, for certain transaction amounts, screening procedures may apply. This can sometimes involve a recorded verification call as part of the process.

The above are standard practices across the industry, although implementation may vary slightly from one fund manager to another.

I hope this helps.

Even if several people says YES, would still suggest you go in with the mindSet of a maximum of 4 business days which is industry standard.

in the hosting industry, the time for domain propagation is between 24 to 48 hours BUT guess what, you could register and provsion domains for 8 years and all would get instantly ready within less than 1-minute BUT that still doesn't erase the fact that it could take 24 to 48 hours.

Having that at back of your mind reduces frustrations if and when it ever or finally occurs.

In mainLand parts of Lagos, banks such as GTB, firstBank, etc; when going there for anything such as deposit, withdrawal, customerCare, whatEver so long it involves entering the banking hall, you're better off assigning the whole of that day for it BECAUSE if your plan na to get in, quickly finish and get out to attend to other things, na big disAppointment + frustration you dey set yourSelf up for.

Your fund keeps earning INTERESTs unTil the funds leaves your account. That's how it should be. So nothing spoil. meanWhile, that you're told to wait 3 to 5 working (business) days, doesn't mean it would always get to that. It's just a safety net so they don't tell you in 2-hours time and when they don't respond within that time, you come complaining.
There are times it takes less than 4-hours same day and there are times it takes more than 2-days.
