oloriooko:Funnily enough, DRC haven't been all that good. They're actually not playing that well. They played better against us and against Cameroon. This is their first match since January if I'm not mistaken. Jamaica is just playing disastrously. |

Once Jamaica hold ball, there's no logic to their next move. It's just to hoof the ball up to the DR Congo keeper. Abeg I don laugh tire tonight, make I go sleep. 🤣🤣 |

SymphonyRad:Sor, Otele and Fernandez were just added. Nnadi was at the last AFCON. It’s a gradual process but for AFCON27 and 28 (?) we need to have a squad with a mix of folks ready to win now (Lookman, Iwobi, Osimhen, Bassey) and those that have at least 2-3 tournaments in them (Fernandez, Sor, Nnadi). But I hear you. Even the ones we recently called up are in their mid 20s. Where are the U-18 - U-23s that will be the next generation of the SE… |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Predator87: 12:58am On Apr 01 |
mrwilliams9:Sor and Otele are 26 Yers old already and by 2030 they will be aging themselves. Bosnia had a 19 year old take a decisive PK for them vs Italy. We need to start integrating young players into the Super eagles now or we are toast. The next u17, U20 and Olympics are crucial for Nigeria but i wont be surprised if the NFF mess up yet again. We are going the way of Italy. Dey play. |

Predator87:I understand what you are trying to say and I’m not saying it’s bad but the same Bosnia have a 90 years old Dzeko starting crucial games for them, if Musa is part of any SE squad we won’t hear the end of it |

I joined 34 minutes into the watch and throughout my viewing of the match, Raphael Onyedika did not impress me. What exactly does Raphael Onyedika's contribute to our midfield. When it comes to accuracy in the long and short passes of the ball, Raphael Onyedika is second to none, but what does he even do with those. I have not seen any significant forward passes of the ball. I am yet to see any significant forward carries of the ball. He doesn't open up that much to help build and progress play from the back due to his positioning (is he running away from something, I can't just tell) I have not seen him control or swith play despite his ability to deliver long balls. Let's be real, Raphael Onyedika owns the skills to perform all the aforementioned acts, but what exactly is his problem? Anyone close to Raphael Onyedika should please wake him up with a slap. He should reward his coach's confidence in him. |

You just sat down and typed a load of bollocks. All these Onyedika misyarns is so forced and screams pseudoanalysis. Kindly also comment and elucidate "truthfully" on what the midfield of Iwobi and Ndidi contributed after they came in up until that reckless red card as well. What did they bring to the Jordan game that was different? Pray tell? Coz Jordan even got bolder with that change and we did not threaten as much as we did in the first half. While at it, also kindly explain why Your beloved Tactically best winger, Chidera Ejuke was not effective in today's game. Oh I forgot, he was rotting on the bench as usual. Anyone in need of a slap na Ejuke and perhaps you, for being so biasedly blind to see the light. Meliforme: |

Akinsanmiro - 21 Nnadi - 22 Fago Lawal - 22 All 3 lads were at the last Afcon. Akor is also 25, Ogbu is 25. FDB is 24. Onyedika is 24. Bassey is 26. Against Uganda, we fielded a first XI with average age of 26.8yrs. Vs Morocco in the semis, the age average of the 1st XI was 27.9yrs. It is gradual. A mix of experience and youth is still the best approach. Bosnia also had 40y/o Dzeko alongside those youngsters i mentioned and only one of the youngsters started. The 18y/o came from the bench. Chibuike Nwaiwu is not mid 20s though. He is U23. But I see your point in reference to Sor and Otele. Dont forget we still have a defensive core of 20y/o recuperating Benjamin Frederick, and a rising 19y/o Vince Osuji at Club Brugge. The U18s, U21s, U23s are there but we cant call them all up at once naa. I made a post here of U23 Midfield talents alone that are on the rise, few of which are already Super Eagles, while the others are still prospects in waiting. The fact is the current team is in its prime and still has 2-3 major tournaments to give us. As time goes, then the current U20-U23 prospects will begin to become more visible and get blooded into the Senior side as the much older parts of this prime team falls away. mrwilliams9: |

jihday:Oga we need balance. I dont mind having 90 year old Osimhen as long as we have 18,19,20,21 year olds YNs doing the heavy lifting for him. Right now our Super Eagles are are basically in the same generation. They will all start aging at the same time. By 2030 Most of them will be either 30 or pushing 30 and that will be a time bomb waiting to explode. That's why i keep saying this cycle of Youth football is crucial for Nigeria. The next U17s, U20s, and Olympics will determine our fate. If we mess up like we have been doing since Pinnic and Gausau took over we may not qualify for another World Cup in 20 years. |

Endrick will be such a problem at the world cup if Brazil use him right. Right after Croatia equalised, he got the ball and moved straight at the Croats box, winning a penalty. Bold plays do pay off. Igor Thiago of Brentford scores the penalty and gives Brazil a late lead. Then he leads another strong attack setting up Martinelli. My God! This Brazillian attack is scary with Endrick moving so fast and strong. Carlo could cook with this Brazil side if all the elements at his disposal click as he wishes. Brazil just needs solidity + fluidity in their fullback roles. Brazil normally thrives on the athletic adventurous overlaps of their fullbacks in tandem with the genius of their creatively offensive players. Cafu Era, Carlos Alberto Era, Roberto Carlos Era. Right now, who are their fullbacks? It is well. |

So like play like play, we've allowed the crimes of the NFF to just slide like that without anyone of them being held accountable? I thought the height of it would come from the rubbish petition of lies they claimed to have filed to CAS...Eguavoen still has a job, the donkey who calls himself NFF president has not even issued a statement explaining to Nigeria how a simple petition was botched? No wahala sha. |

TheSuperNerd:I didn't watch the match, but the fact that his performance is being debated here suggests that his game was not far from below-par. Onyedika, the confidenc I used to have in him reduced by 50% after that Morocco match. Maybe that dude has confidence issues. By the way I hope you're not comparing him to Ndidi and Iwobi, those guys have proved themselves long ago. But Onyedika still has much to prove, lets be honest. He's quality no doubt, but under pressure he seems to go AWOL. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by SymphonyRad: 8:44am On Apr 01 |
MetalJigsaw:I'm watching the full match now and I must say Onyedika just doesn't cut it for me, he struggled to keep possession and most of his passes were back or stray passes, Onyeka worked double by cleaning up most of his mistakes. Ndidi and Iwobi came on and significantly improved our midfield play...I'm not saying he's a bad player by any stretch, but Chelle needs to know what he's doing and have a comprehensive scouting for the players that can improve that midfield. The likes of Ugochukwu, Gibson Yah, Nnadi, Akinsamiro, Dennis and Femi Azeez must be permanently integrated into that aging midfield already |
