idk about fated ends. They won Euros during this period they did not qualify.

My opinion on this matter is that i will prefer for coaches of teams that are obviously not going to win the world cup to still prosecute the tournament. You have done this hard work during the qualifiers, why sack now and still employ someone that still wont win the tournament. Pre WC friendly results "are indicative but not conclusive" (let me borrow from south gate's literature)
Goke7:
I don’t understand o but from what I’ve read it’s been long coming to get rid of the guy then there are statements he has made that has not gone well with the public so the friendly game results especially the one against Austria was just the perfect excuse to get him off. A Ghanaian journalist said no matter the result against Germany a decision was already made by both the federation and the sports ministry

Exactly what I mean by my rejoicing when the natural end of corruption comes quickly.

The Euros win made it look like they were cheated the laws of sowing and reaping. If everyone reaped immediately what they showed they'd not stay long sowing nonsense

Nigeria has now missed out on two consecutive World Cups (2022 and 2026). This is a serious setback, and if we are not deliberate and strategic moving forward, we risk missing out again in 2030.
To avoid repeating the same mistakes, we must begin preparations well ahead of the 2030 qualifiers, which start in March 2027. Two critical areas need urgent attention:
1. Stadium Infrastructure and Home Advantage
We must prioritize building or renovating at least two standard, world-class stadiums with top-quality facilities. These stadiums should meet international standards comparable to what we see in countries like Morocco.
Additionally, home matches should be scheduled for evening hours (6pm or later). This will give our player many of whom are based in Europea more familiar playing environment in terms of weather and pitch conditions, thereby maximizing our home advantage.
If achieving this within the required timeframe is not feasible, then the NFF should formally engage CAF or FIFA to approve an alternative home venue, such as Morocco, where we can benefit from better facilities and playing conditions. Recent qualifiers have shown that we perform better away from home than on poor pitches domestically this must be addressed decisively.
2. Professional and Independent Team Management Structure
We need to establish a competent and independent Super Eagles management team focused solely on off-field operations. This body should handle logistics, player welfare, match bonuses, travel arrangements, and overall coordination.
By removing administrative inefficiencies and ensuring timely execution of all operational matters, the team can focus fully on performance. This management unit should work directly with the government to ensure proper funding and accountability.
This is a call to action. Anyone with access to the NFF or relevant authorities should help ensure that these recommendations are heard and acted upon. The future of Nigerian football depends on intentional planning and decisive leadership.

Poland?
Somehow I missed Poland. Yeah Poland's there too.

But then again including them is doing a lot of heavy lifting. I'd only include them because of their Olympic soccer performances. Although I don't think their success there has translated to World Cups and UEFA tournaments.

To be fair I included Russia, so I have to include them. But if I was to make a tighter list, it would just be Italy, Cameroon, Nigeria and Denmark.

UAE or Italy are the most likely countries to replace Iran should they withdraw from the World Cup. A decision will need to be made by mid-April.

You can bet your top $$ that there would immense pressure from UEFA and/or FIFA World Cup sponsors to have Italy as the replacement team

The Corruption and rot in the Italian Football Youth System according to an eye witness...

🇮🇹🚨 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 from Federico Mangiameli (former U17 and U19 player for AC Milan):

“On one hand I’m frustrated, on the other I’m happy. Only those who have lived in this world know how disgusting what goes on behind it really is.

Agents who push their players from lower divisions up to Serie C with envelopes of €50K, Serie A and youth teams made up only of overpaid foreign players, or coaches who couldn’t even decide their starting eleven.

I’ve witnessed things unworthy of money, and I’ve seen teammates treated horribly by club officials.

All of this is the system of Italian football—a toxic system that I fortunately left some time ago.

Unlike other sports, it has become something that should not be taken as an example: people who fake things, favoritism, ignorant and ill-mannered individuals who would do anything for a few bucks. And all of this is the result.”

The way Serie A clubs treat their players sef says it all. Again, corruption is global. I hope we learn as Nigerians

Italy is a Western nation on the outside, but a third-world nation on the inside.

There’s a different level of football intelligence that some foreign-born players bring to the national team, and it really highlights the importance of proper football education from an early stage.

I just watched the goal scored by Fernandez, his calmness and composure under pressure, combined with the presence of mind to pick his spot and finish with such efficiency, made it a beautiful moment to watch. What makes it even more impressive is that it came from a defender.

This isn’t to discredit our homegrown players, but it’s hard to imagine someone like Omeruo, Adeleye, or Oboabona pulling off something like that.

corruption is a world wide phenomenon to be honest. Look at the recent minnesota child care fraud. That is the one uncovered ooo. The difference between african corruption and european corruption is just aesthetics in my opinion. Same devils just different skin tones.

It's usually a rude shock for someone like me who have high regards for them.
I lived in the same neighborhood with Lebanese and Indians so I know what to expect but you see Americans/Europeans. Rude shock!

The only thing I appreciate is how they at least try to reform.
