How many months since these officers were arrested ? Over 6 months!
How many months did Ironsi lock up Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu before officers of the Nigerian army kidnapped and killed Ironsi for not quickly trying them? 6 months!

So why is it that the South West who cheered on and still defends vigorously the actions of Gowon and his group in killing Ironsi (who helped to quash the January 15 coup) for not rushing the trial of Nzeogwu and Co, go very quiet as their son Tinubu prevaricates on sending these coupist to trial and the gallows??

Can we now say that Tinubu is protecting the coupists as Ironsi was accused of?

Na double standard be our problem in this country
You and your ilk are a huge problem for Nigeria.

A touching and emotional protest was recorded in Abuja as children of individuals accused of plotting a coup took to the streets, crying and pleading with authorities.

In the viral video, the children were seen holding placards and chanting “Don’t kill our daddies!” as they begged for mercy, drawing sympathy from onlookers.

The situation has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for justice and due process, while others debate the seriousness of the allegations.

Awuu. You should have become 1st children in Nigeria if your daddies had succeeded. There are consequences for coup plotting. Your daddies knew them before hand.

Some of you still say Igbo's Nnamdi Azikiwe refused inclusion of referendum in the constitution, therefore, nobody should ask for referendum in Nigeria.

To see anyone from your side with sense is so rare these days.
You can only draw parallel if the coup had succeeded and a Northerner who benefitted from the coup failed to try the coup plotters
Nobody expects someone without sense to identify someone with sense, that'd be error error error.

Why not ask the government that is holding them?. However , I can tell you for free that their arrests were not random.
I can see karma loading on all the people and sectors that arranged this government, eg - a former governor and a certain section of the country who believe being in government is all they have in life.

Your Daddies planned to kill Mr. President and lots of other prominent Nigerians. If they had succeeded in their evil plots, you and your mothers would have been cruising around the country with escorts as children and wives of the new military rulers of Nigeria.

The penalty for a failed coup is death sentence. They should have thought about the consequences before planning to kill other people’s parents. The law must take its course.

Was your kinsman OBJ not part of the coup plot against Abacha?
Why were you begging for his release and prerogative of mercy from the president then?

If they are truly guilty, stating they are not guilty would simply increase the governments resolve to deal with them.

However, any dearh sentence on them will never be carried out.

Keep shifting the goal post 📫
A coup is a coup..
The officers involved in the coup against Tinubu are not denying.
They have been arrested and have confessed.
Investigation have been concluded.
Nothing is left but to prosecute and punish...

So why is Tinubu not acting fast?
It is a valid question.
Ironsi was killed not because he was involved in the coup. Dude was murdered because according to you guys, he wasted time in prosecuting and punishing the coupists.

When did the "Nzeogwu coup" happen? January 15th 1966.
When did the Murtala/Danjuma/Gowon coup take place? July 29th 1966!
Six moths intervals. So?
These army officers arrested by Tinubu have now spent over 6 months in jail. Why are you guys wasting time? Why not rush and try them??

You accused an igbo man called Aguiyi Ironsi of protecting his brothers by delaying prosecution of the January 1966 coupists, why are you not extending such measures/accusations to Tinubu who has now spent more time sitting on this recent coup plothuh
That's the billion dollar question you can never answer...

The point is that Ironsi was murdered for no reason! Dude was bidding his time because of the tension in the land. That's what Tinubu is probably doing too because of the upcoming elections..
But while I can see their reasons for delaying prosecution, ethnic champions like you will accuse Ironsi of being sectional in action..

Think about that for a mjnute...the
It is very very unfortunate that your parent narrated fake story to you out of sentiment.

He would as well narate the story of Obasanjo to you as well, Obasanjo was accused of coup plotting and he remained in prison till mercy located him and later became president of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

What can you say about that...

Tinubu is wiser than your entire generation.

Look at what despicable opportunist Sowore and Adeyanju are dragging innocent little children into for their own obsession with attention-seeking.

In what nation are coup plotters, suspected of treason that is the worst crime to commit against a nation, not treated precisely as they are being treated in Nigeria?

So many self-serving opportunists taking advantage of the ignorance, lack of knowledge and gullibility of Nigerians.

They should not kill your Daddies but your daddies can kill other abi?
If tó say the coup succeed now, all of you will be in aṣọ rock villa enjoying and mocking all of us as sons and daughters of coup plotters.

Now your daddies know the consequence of their action before they embark on it.

It's very smart if all of you can just go to religation centres to seek forgiveness from Almighty Allahu for your daddies.

Your daddies already signed for supreme judgement, therefore no going back.

If they are pardon, then others will do it again and weep up the same emotional sentiment for fake pardon.

Same here. Sad for the little kids in particular as a parent. Yet they shouldn't have been wheeled out and used to play politics by desperados like Sowore and Adeyanju who are as bad as the worst politicians they pretend to be speaking against.

Unfortunately, their dads, husbands, Uncles etc are suspected of committing very serious offence against their nation that display of placards cannot just wish away.

Sowore and Adeyanju know this but are deliberately using these poor kids and family members for their own selfish agendas.

Yet they will say Tinubu is dictatorial while he continues to watch vile antics like this, designed to demonize him, with restraint.

Although I understand you, given the seriousness of the crime the detained men are suspected of, but the message , while fitting for adults, is a bit harsh on the innocent children with some of them even looking like toddlers.

This is when responsible and well-meaning Nigerians should get angry and critical towards Sowore and Adeyanju who deliberately gathered this group of people together and placed placards in the hands of even very young children and toddlers simply to try and embarrass PBAT

Sowore and Adeyanju do not care a jot about these guys or their plight. They only wish to use them cynically to achieve their malevolent agenda against the government of the day.

Otherwise they would not drag toddlers and little children to parade like circus animals when they cannot understand what they are doing or being used for.

They simply used these people for negative optics they wish to use shaping the narrative against the Government. That is all Sowore lives for while Adeyanju is an opportunist always looking to cash out.

Shame on Sowore and Adeyanju both worse and more callous than the worst politicians they claim to be fighting.

Can you ever rise above bigotry to attempt reasoning logically? No "double standards" here at all.

The bolded in your post is not applicable comparison to today's situation as you wish to make it appear so as to misinform those who are ignorant of history.

Ironsi was in power courtesy of the Igbo coup that saw the brutal killing of revered and beloved Northern leaders.

Of course the Military boys from the North were angry beyond placation and struck back vengeful the only way they knew how via an equally bloody counter-coup to wipe out those who murdered their own.

It was the Military boys, from different ethnic groups, dealing with each other via brutal violence.

Only you and your ilk can revise history so shamelessly to compare the completely unrelated revenge for the "Igbo coup" with what obtains where a democratic Government is in place some tried to depose with a military coup

Do your fact check ( I won't do it for you) to note investigation of suspected conspiracy of many, to commit treason against their nation, is not something the law puts specific time limit on.

While precedences may be cited, mention of time is advisory only and not legally enforceable.

Below is why Ironsi taken out. Stop adding 2 and 2 to proclaim as 28 because you are desperate to indict those you hate of wrongdoing.
