PRP Woos Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Others by Nemere2020(op): 2:54pm On Apr 02
The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has urged opposition leaders, including Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mr Peter Obi, and Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, to unite under the party to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.

The Lagos State Chairman, Mr James Adeshina made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.

He made the call while reacting to the leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC), adopted by some prominent opposition leaders ahead of 2027 general elections.

Adeshina, a former Lagos State Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Chairman, described the renewed ADC leadership crisis as a threat to opposition cohesion.

He said: “Nigeria’s political landscape is once again witnessing turbulence—this time within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“What should have been a strong alternative platform is now entangled in internal disputes, leadership struggles, and uncertainty.

“This development is not just unfortunate; it is a stark reminder of a deeper problem within opposition politics in Nigeria—fragmentation.

“At a time when the nation urgently needs a strong, united front to safeguard democracy, internal crises like the one in ADC only weaken the collective ability of opposition forces to provide credible alternatives.

“The consequences are far-reaching: it creates room for unchecked dominance and fuels the growing fear of Nigeria sliding toward a one-party state.”

According to him, now that the PDP and ADC are facing huge leadership crises that could affect their electoral goals, PRP remains a credible alternative without internal wranglings.

He said that the current situation in the opposition platform calls for bold and decisive action from its leaders to rescue the country.

Adeshina said that rather than allowing internal divisions to consume the strength of progressive movements, stakeholders across parties must begin to rethink strategy—not as competitors, but as collaborators in a shared mission to rescue Nigeria.

“I therefore extend a sincere invitation to key figures and stakeholders within ADC and beyond—leaders such as Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso and other to approach PRP.

“All emerging voices in the ADC need to consider aligning with a more stable and historically grounded platform: the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

“The contrast is clear. While ADC is currently grappling with internal instability, PRP remains the oldest political party in Nigeria with a consistent legacy of discipline, unity, and ideological focus.

“Notably, PRP has operated without the kind of internal rancour that has plagued many other parties. In a time of uncertainty, stability is not just an advantage—it is a necessity.

“The truth is simple: Nigeria does not need multiple weak opposition parties; it needs one strong, united force capable of challenging the status quo and restoring balance to the political system.”

He said that the ongoing ADC crisis should not just be seen as a setback, adding that it should serve as a wake-up call.

According to him, it is a call to leaders and stakeholders to rise above party loyalty and embrace a broader national agenda.

He said that it should be a call to consolidate strengths, not scatter them.

“To the leaders affected, this is not about abandoning your ideals—it is about preserving them in a more viable structure.

“It is about ensuring that your vision for Nigeria does not get lost in internal conflicts or political fragmentation.

“To Nigerians watching from all corners, the message is equally clear: unity among credible leaders is the pathway to national redemption.

“History will not remember the parties we defended—it will remember the country we saved.

“The time to act is now. The opportunity to unite is here. And the platform that offers stability, legacy, and direction remains the PRP. Let us come together—before it is too late.”

He emphasised PRP’s long-standing legacy and ideological consistency.

“We encourage opposition leaders to rescue Nigeria by joining PRP, a party existing for 47 years with strong ideology and unity,” he said.

The chairman expressed optimism about the party’s electoral prospects.

He said PRP had the capacity to win the 2027 Presidential Election and Lagos State Governorship if opposition forces unite under its platform.

NAN reports that INEC on Wednesday announced de-recognition of the ADC National Chairman, David Mark, National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, and others, citing a court order.

Lol. PRP looking to cash out from the desperation of Atiku, Obi, Aregbesola etal who cannot build a winning Party, and only know how to buy one, yet insisting they are best to lead Nigeria.

Make PRP sef cash out before Dubai dollars finish with "gluttons" like Momodu, Kenneth Okonkwo etal looking to pocket a large chunk of the 'budget'.

If they join PRP tinubu would ensure he plants a bug there to destabilize the party. Tinubu doesn't want any opposition.

Look at LP, the moment Obi left there it became calm. That would tell you that their infighting was sponsored

The moment they enter the party, APC and INEC will come in as usual. I suggest they join INEC, that way , INEC cannot cancel itself.

See as they destroyed the party and turned it to a ridicule in less than 3months…to go and regilarise papers with INEC or wait for court judgement, they are unsettling everywhere.they way they just enter the ADC and dislodged all the leaders they met there ,if there was no INEC what would have happened to the fate of those who have been carrying the party since 2005

Which one is PRP again, APC that is very confident of their election rigging strategies is now scared. They should just allow ADC to contest and rigg it as usual, Nigeria can't be a one party state

Most people cannot contain success

A party will be relatively peaceful until it attracts big names or win major elections

Then, the true character of their members will begin to show.
