President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday promised that Plateau state will not experience a repeat of the recent Jos killings, saying himself and the Plateau state governor, Caleb Muftwang, were not elected to create and comfort widows and widowers.

According to the President, his administration was determined to put a stop to killings of innocent citizens of the North central state.

Tinubu said this while addressing the state governor, federal lawmakers and other top government officials and senior citizens at a town hall during his visit to the state capital l.

He said: “Thank you very much. Please, be seated. You have no light at the airport. And I have to fly back within the next ten minutes.

He is right in the fact that it is actually governors who have more of the work to do and we put so much blame on the FG but the timing of the statement when people just died is wrong. Do I have updated comments? Yes. The first and last part of the report is to create a sensational response. This is why I had to go listen myself just in case they were trying to bait rage even though I no send this President. I have no hope in them, renewed or otherwise.

Now to my analysis, Nigerians are sycophants. People are clapping and laughing when others just lost their lives. People are enamored by the presence of the president that they laughed. His speech wasn't as bad as it was reported but I still see insensitivity in it. I don't know who his advisers were but I can see other videos of the President in Lagos, which means Lagos was more important for him to be in than Jos. I also remember Bayo Onanuga had released a statement earlier in the day that the president had to abort his trip to Ogun State for this. That one too sounded like Tinubu was doing Plateau a favor by visiting them. Post event analysts will say that he could have said things better. That closing line is not appropriate and we play too much in this country. Someone on the comment section said this was how he promised in a previous incident that never again will this happen but it will still happen again

The president was also pointing to his cap as a symbol of breaking the shackle. Omo! I have no comment.

Imagine if the president canceled his other trips to spend time with people of Jos in this period, at least for Good Friday If Jos used to welcome him in the past, what happened to the present?
