‼️🇬🇭UPDATE: Joachim Low will take the Black Stars job on a short-term deal focused solely on the 2026 World Cup. Personal terms are close to being finalized following extensive negotiations between top Ghanaian officials and the German tactician late last night in Germany 🇩🇪. The 2014 World Cup winning coach is expected to earn around 150,000 Euros a month if everything is agreed. Via- Nuhu Adams |

Damioduso1:Short term deal? As if Ghana will do anything at the world cup. They should have hired the former Morocan coach. Low is going to chop their $$$ |

All these Onyedika slanders will not age well. I leave it to time to prove me right. Now same Alhassan Yusuf that was constantly castigated here yet rated by me is being mentioned in fine light just to talk down on Nwadike. Lol... Time is a beautiful thing. ![]() |

Article 6.2 of FIFA's World Cup regulations state that if a team withdraws from the World Cup, they would be replaced 'with a nominated alternate, often the direct runner-up from the relevant qualifying playoff or highest-ranked non-qualified team from that confederation'…. But FIFA can adjudicate the matter at its 'sole discretion'. This, FIFA may choose to pick a team from a different confederation to replace the withdrawn team. |

TheSuperNerd:I thought Raphael Onyedika won MVP and scored two goals in the last Afcon,so what really happened during friendlies cuz comments on him not good cuz I rated him highly and tipped him to replace Ndidi |

TheSuperNerd:Maybe Chelle hasn't figured out how to use him and has played him out of position? Maybe Onyedika should be tried in a more advanced midfield role? |

TheSuperNerd:It might not age well because footballers are human and are capable of improving, being stagnant or declining. Ultimately. they prove you either right or wrong. Such is life. I once did not rate Ekong. Thought he was a very poor defender but he went to the 2023 AFCON and put in a 2006 world cup Cannavaro-esque stellar performance and emerged tournament MVP. Also, I thought Calvin Bassey was poor circa 2021-2022 when he made his Super Eagles debut and played for Rangers & Ajax but he's turned out to be our best defender at the 2025 AFCON and made team of the tournament. I wish Onyedika well but I just don't think he's the right type of profile for the Super Eagles DM position in any formation. BTW, I have always rated Alhassan Yusuf. This thread is replete with my posts praising him and defending his invitation/inclusion to/in the Super Eagles team when others labelled him a quota system pick. I hope Chelle recalls him back to the team. A good player is a good player irrespective of the league he plays. |

semid4lyfe:alhassan has lungs that can fill onyeka's role. Oneydika will come good. The guy thrives in a pure 3 man midfield where is not the guy to mark. Most times we forget how good this guy was against Russia. I feel an ndidi, iwobi and onyedika with onyedika in more advanced role will make us appreciate the guy. Time will tell. One player I miss so much is chrisantus Uche. He is that guy I feel can compliment osimhen the way AKOR does Finally, I feel benjamin Fredricks, will be massive in midfield esp that Ndidi role ( just thinking )the boy's movement that resulted to the goal against Gabon keep playing in my head. |

Let's remove sentiments. they got a high profile coach. And they are paying him top dollars. I'm sure they wont owe him salaries. while I think our brothers are just going for exhibition, we still need to admit that they are better in football administratively. TheSuperNerd: |

Your judgement of this matter is twisted Nobody is SLANDERING Onyedika so it's you that will not age well cuz nobody slandered him. For your info, what many are saying is that in that match against Jordan he was ghosting as an attacking MF, no one said the boy is not good but in that role he was palying cameo but all you see was the goal he scored and disallowed We all know he's a talented player and we are glad to have him in the SE, but whenever he's criticised you should stop insulting people, it's barbaric and uncultured You can make your comments without insulting people TheSuperNerd: |

Times without number I have stated Onyedika has different role paths which his profile will lead him towards depending on how his continued development goes....... Double pivot CDM ▶️ Lone Pivot CDM, CM, or even CAM. But one thing is certain, this lad is on a right path yet is being written off early by most of you because of one game - The Morocco game. If one game decided it all, we would not see the reinvention of Ndidi under Chelle even after his initial struggles when Chelle came in. Many wish to bury the fact that Ndidi also partly cost us the WC ticket due to his slip up leading to the DRC goal. Did we bury him permanently because of that? At the Afcon, Ndidi finally clicked and came to life, finally able to make the Chelle 4312 Diamond work. If there is anything Football teaches me, it is that one game never truly defines you. On Alhassan... True truths co-exist here. When I said Onyedika slander will not age well, that refers to all the talkdowns. But when I said, Alhassan was even castigated heavily here, that refers to some folks who know themselves, who are repeating same thing now on Onyedika and agreeing an Alhassan who they always talked down is now better than Onyedika. I remember times without number on this thread pointing out how combative yet cerebral Yusuf is but not many saw it. All they saw was an aboki or a player filling up a quota system in the team according to them. One of the best midfield combos I observed us feature was Onyedika and Alhassan starting together vs Rwanda in Uyo alongside FDB. We had already qualified but I saw a midfield deliver classy football in the first half. It lasted for 45mins as Alhassan made way for Onyeka who later on assisted Chukwueze who scored that marvellous goal... all before we went on to capitulate losing 2-1. Even now, Alhassan is not football-dead. He is just in the MLS. But several folks use that to register him useless. Ngwanu, no problem. Now they agree he is better than a lad who has done it vs Barca and ATM in the UCL this season. This is where I laugh seriously and leave it up to time because it is not everyone who sees through to the core of what makes a player thick and able to rise above the doubts. semid4lyfe: |

My dear Elder, I guess it is the idea of them wanting to see Onyedika running all over the pitch like a mad man doing eye service and forming busy/active to convince them that he did well vs Jordan. Onyedika did not even put a foot wrong vs Jordan and even scored a good goal that was scrapped off. If you watched the Chelle Reaction immediately after Onyedika scored, you will see him gesticulating with his hands, uttering "You see? You see?" emphasizing why the quick passing-moving sequence from side to side, switching the play constantly, is key to breaking down a stubborn deepblock. This was before his reactive coaching show was stopped by the nonsense ref decision to cancel it. Lol Chelle was like, "you see why you need to keep ball moving from end to end and finding the gaps... it is so that we get chances like that". He was impressed with the sequences leading to that goal. Onyedika was involved in the sequences. Abeg na people for this thread sabi. Time will tell it all. Kog45: |

He played sitting CDM in that game I believe. Normally at Club Brugge he is paired in a double pivot with Stankovic, Onyedika does the recovery and distribution, Stankovic does the tracking, pressing mop-up and vice versa. Their roles compliment each other so much that sometimes Onyedika arrives in the box and hit belters. Truidstarr: |

TheSuperNerd:No lele bro. We be Super Eagles supporters, not fans. Fans are those who remember the Super Eagles only during matches and post in the match day threads. We the supporters post about the Super Eagles, every day of the week, throughout the year in this thread. We scout and unearth players. We profile players. We discuss formation, player combinations and tactics. We decry the ineptitude in our football administration. When results don't go our way, we vent our frustrations, crash out and cry. Some disappear for days to lick their wounds. But eventually, we return and start again looking forward to the future with hope. It takes an enormous amount of love, commitment and resources to do these things. Ultimately, what we all want is for our players to come good, do well in their clubsides and the National team, and prove their doubters wrong cos its to the benefit of the team. We don't post to gloat and bag bragging rights of I told you so. So, I will be so glad for time to prove me wrong on Onyedika, as I have been proven wrong a few times on other players. Peace. |

I don't understand nff with Arthur okonkonwo switch to Nigeria . Arthur okonkonwo agent recently deny that the nff made contact with Arthur okonkonwo to switch to play for Nigeria. He further state that the nff has not yet make any contact to Arthur okonkonwo regarding switching allegiances to Nigeria . Last 2 months news break out that Arthur okonkonwo has switch allegiance to the super eagles of Nigeria The story is Lambo not true |

I think Onyedika is suffering from a confidence and lack of maturity to his game issue. He has the tools to be a really good midfield general but he has to do a deep dive analysis of his game and how to raise it to the next level. The glimpses I've seen against Uganda and Mozambique some years back gives me hope he will come good but he needs to do more. TheSuperNerd: |
