When I first moved to America, I didn’t let conservative hysteria about men who wear makeup and she/they/them pronouns rid me of my common sense.

I did go and still go to church faithfully. But used my god-given brain to assess who actually practices what Jesus preaches about love and neighborliness. And shocker, it isn’t the conservatives. They are stuck in hate. They mentally can’t progress past the point where they see others as humans who deserve to enjoy the country like everyone else.

And that’s why we don’t have great amenities like other first world countries . The conservative fear that non-white people might benefit too. They’d rather all suffer and die than live in a world where other communities are happy.

Leave it to democrats to actually do the things conservatives claim they want like America First. All other developed nations have robust safety nets for their citizens who pay taxes. Citizens who shouldn’t be ashamed of asking to benefit from their taxes.

This here may not be the exact same compared to what should be done. We are still far behind as this is something that should have been guaranteed federally decades ago but wasn't. But a step in the right direction is step I’m always happy about.

The USA and Israel, two globally recognized military powers with the best technology and finances behind them bar none, both nuclear armed, have been fighting a vastly poorer and limited nation for over a month now, a nation which has been limited from its own skies and a nation suffering from half a century of international sanctions. A nation thus ordinarily not expected to be able to put up a fight considering the odds. And not only is that nation still standing, it is drawing blood from its enemies militarily in a way which has never happened to those enemies before, and it is drawing blood economically from the entire world.

This is not about comparing casualty figures, those figures were always gonna be the way the are. The reality however, based on expectations and any sane assessment of who holds the real leverage now, is simply different.

How many countries would still be standing against these two powers? Especially after several levels of leadership were taken out at the onset. Not many.

That's why I told him that his capacity for analysis is extremely deficient. I have posited this over several posts.

For the clear-eyed, you can see the premise of the discussions, but like Trump and MAGA dog-sh1t, they are only interested in scores and never actually long-term cause, effects, and consequences.

The reality is that the longer term gain in having a TAMED Iran (and with a possible end game of having a Iran that is friendly, not a bully to their neighbours, open to trade, not oppressive to their own people - many of whom they have killed and subjugated, etc etc) is far far greater than the transient economic pains we are suffering right now.
