The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has said that there are chances that Nigeria will rise again no matter how hard life has been for its citizens.

According to CAN, this is the meaning of Easter, which symbolises hope returning when it seemed lost, life after despair and a new beginning after a difficult moment.

“It is a message that speaks directly to Nigeria today,” Archbishop Daniel Okoh,
President of CAN said in a statement on Sunday.

He noted that across the country, people were weary, families were anxious, many do not feel safe while others were struggling just to get by.

“For some, hope has grown faint. But Easter tells us this is not the end.

“We do not have to remain where we are. We can rise, rebuild, and move forward, together,” CAN added.

“For those in leadership, this is a test of purpose. People must feel leadership, not just hear it. They are looking for action, for empathy, for visible efforts to improve their lives. That is how a nation begins to rise.

“For the Church, this is a moment to stand firm and speak clearly. People are searching for hope they can hold on to.

“The Church must be present; standing with the struggling, offering direction, and helping to light the way forward.

“And for Nigerians everywhere, this is no time to give up on one another. There may be those intent on keeping the rest of us in fear, but we must resist; not with panic or division, but with courage, solidarity, and a shared belief in one another.

“Hard times can divide, but they can also unite. If we choose unity over suspicion and look out for one another, change becomes not just possible, but certain.

“Easter is more than a celebration; it is a decision. A decision to rise above our differences, to stand together, and to confront what holds us back. And if we make that choice, together, then Nigeria will rise again,” he said.

Yesterday, while watching a Fox News report on the U.S., Israel, and Iran conflict, my neighbor’s son said something that made me both laugh and feel sad. He said:

“Two countries are fighting against Iran, yet they still have electricity in the homes in iran. We are not at war, yet there is no light anywhere.”

Every tribe in Nigeria is facing this same problem of unreliable electricity not to mention other serious issues like insecurity and inflation. No tribe is exempt from the hardship caused by poor governance.

Yet, when it comes to choosing a leader who can move the country forward, the main question many Nigerians focus on is, “What tribe is he?” instead of asking, “What has he achieved? What does he plan to achieve? And how does he plan to achieve it?”


Anyway, Wise words from the archbishop. Atleast this time around he did not ask nigerians to pray for nigeria. He knows God doesnt have our time.

If you plot the graph of the the progress Nigeria has made since independence in 1960, you will get a downward slope or trend, which means that things have been getting worse.

The only thing that will reverse this downward trend is if Nigeria splits along ethnic Nationalities, and let ethnic Nationalities that are willing to unite to build a nation stay together.

Definitely not under the disaster in chief and apc. This is actually apc version of CAN.

Is the Christian association of Nigeria saying Nigeria will rice or is it rise again. Judging by a hopeful tomorrow- of course there is nothing bad atoll in hoping but while you hope take serious action as in fight for that thing you have hoped for when you get the opportunity. You don't hope while doing nothing - what I expected to read is how this led incumbent politicians have orchestrated a progressive path for the country.

Nobi today dem Don dey Kpai pple for South South,South East, North East, North Central among others even before this led administration. I also read somewhere that B.P.A.T gave billions in dollars to some bishops, clerics, pastors just to keep shut and not talk down is administration, only pastor Paul aneche remains vocal in the face of their colossal failure. By the way I stop taking C.A.N seriously a long time ago they are toothless dogs preaching hope, people dey kpai constantly you dey preach hope.

Don't get me wrong nija fit beta sha but it is a gradual process when una self never start - it will take over 20 years to undo the damage that as crippled the nation that is if you point out a genuine leader among the 230million nigerian population, the youth we have now never ready, many still dey bomb and living the lavidalocal and fast life something.
