The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has dedicated a new church building in Abuja, named ‘Jesus House’, in a ceremony presided over by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The dedication ceremony, which took place on Saturday, was a grand affair attended by thousands of RCCG members and dignitaries from across the country.

The newly completed church building, located in the Durumi area of Abuja, is a magnificent 5-storey facility that can accommodate up to 3,000 worshippers at once.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony, the Pastor-in-Charge of the ‘Jesus House’ parish in Abuja, Major-Gen. Pat Akem-Vingir (rtd), highlighted the importance of the church in Nigeria’s social and economic fabric.

If you remove the church from Nigeria, the country will collapse. People may deny it, but I am saying it unapologetically.

“If the church were not in Nigeria doing what it is doing; serving as the light of the world and as the salt of the earth, the degradation would have been more than we can imagine.

“70% of the country is youthful. You can’t allow that kind of generation to be wasted. The church is a place where they can find hope, direction and purpose,” he said.

In a brief speech during the dedication ceremony, Pastor Adeboye, who was flanked on both sides by his wife, Pastor Mrs Foluke Adeboye, and the RCCG Continental Overseer, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, expressed his gratitude to God for the completion of the project.

“We thank God for this great day, and for the successful completion of this wonderful edifice. We pray that this building will be a beacon of hope for the afflicted and a place of worship for generations to come,” he said.

The dedication ceremony featured a series of performances by RCCG’s choir, as well as speeches by Mrs Adeboye, senior officials of the church, and other dignitaries.

Among those in attendance were the former Lagos state Commissioner of Police and Deputy Inspector-General of Police (rtd), Pastor Marvel Akpoyibo, who said this new church building is a testament to RCCG’s commitment to the spiritual and physical well-being of the people.

The dedication ceremony culminated in a prayer by Pastor Adeboye, who prayed for the continued growth and prosperity of RCCG, its members and the nation at large.

“We pray that this church building will be a source of blessing to all who enter it and that it will continue to serve as a beacon of hope for the afflicted and a place of worship for generations to come,” he said.

I am afraid you are wrong! Religion is largely to blame for robbing Nigerians of their ability to critically reason their condition and the general state of Nigerian society as a whole. You remove religion and re-introduce dependence on individual ability to reason, you will see wonders begin to happen among Nigerians right there in Nigeria. undecided

And I mean every Religion — Islam, Christianity, Judaism. Hinduism... all the organized -isms. I am ofcourse against stopping their freedoms but I believe it is time they are all taxed at least under the same bracket as other social businesses. The revenue generated could at least do wonders when pumped effectively into the education system. undecided

All churches should be converted to Jewish Synagogues to stop the country from collapsing as Jewdasim is the only TRUE religion of GOD.

I beg to disagree sir. If you remove church from Naija, two things will happen in rapid succesion.

Firstly is that charlatans hiding under the guise of being church leaders, of which there are many, will have to start working for a living.

Secondly is that their lazy followers who prefer to be (mis)led without engaging their own brain to see they can do much more for themselves would eventually get a chance to put said brain to good use.

I am also responding to you unapologetically.

The nation would have been in a much better state if the church and her leaders were functioning properly and as they ought to.

For instance, in the area of corruption and moral values...

Most church members are corrupt and immoral. They form a significant part of the moral decline and decadence in the nation.

Most Church leaders are not as interested in their spiritual growth and moral lives as in their attendance and finances, so instead of preaching what they needed to hear whether they got offended or not, they would say or do anything they want to hear to bring them to church and to keep them there.

Even the wicked, including yahoo boys, fraudsters, looters, armed robbers, adulterers, even witches and occultist, now feel quite comfortable in most churches.

That is not helping the nation much.

So with the many atrocities being committed nationwide, especially in the name of religion, RCCG still believes without the church, Nigeria will collapse.

So it is the presence of churches that contributed to the development of countries like China, Japan, US, Russia, UAE, South Africa, Switzerland etc etc...

They have sustainable developments as a result of good leadership, not religious institutions.

Though a Muslim, Adeboye is one MOG I respect a lot. But on this aspect, I disagree with him.

Don't mix God with all these dodgy religious sects pls. God loves us. He warned us of all these sects in his word. If people decided not to heed His warning and fall headlong into the deception I don't think God should be blamed.

Let me guess, you're ignoring the old testament.

I can't be bothered to start posting parts of the Bible and Quran that encourages what we'll both frown at if it were to happen today.

Well some crazy fellows still do those and they're the ones you people call extremists...

The church have long failed hence the country have collapsed because the atrocities and wickedness being committed in the land is unprecedented.

The last presidential election is a pointer.Chrstains supported a satanic muslim muslim combination in a nation where they told us religion didn't matter. How many so called GOs spoke up?

No Islamic clerics will ever disguise in any form to give legitimacy to any Christian Christian presidential ticket as the agbadorian bishops did. They will have their heads hanging on a pole for apostasy and becoming infidels.

Leah Shariabu, Deborah Samuel and many victims of Islamic fanatics are still languishing-who have spoken up? Many pastors, missionaries have been killed-we behaved as if nothing happened.

Osinbajo never spoke up against all the injustices, wickedness and satanic acts of the outgoing govt because he is @ ease in Zion. So dedicating churches or cathedral up and down is not the church living up to it socio-spiritual responsibility
