This is not new. In Nigeria of today, the more you are able to cheat the people, the more you will be able to make it. Don't you see that, the more the government is cheating us, the more government officials are getting richer and we, citizens they are cheating are getting poorer. |

Are middle class people not buying satchets of cornflakes? Why not satchets of rice. People who have a bit of stew now know they can eat their normal - size plate of rice for just N300. Even working people who have a bit more cash can opt for this. Mama, Papa, plus 3 kids, that's 5 satchets for N1500. Everyone chop clean mouth. Whether you take your raw rice from a 50kg bag, or a 130g satchet, once it is cooked, rice na rice. Big companies are not stupid. This company has done their research. They know 130g is enough per person. This thing will sell. |

Very good, it will come in handy for sharing to obtain 2027 votes especially in Lagos as 25 or 50 kg bag go too heavy and fuel for transport don cost. You can even put it in your pocket and leg am home. What a bright idea that u gat to wonder why no one ever thought about it before. I highly commend the APC for creating the conditions for a 140g rice sachet economy. When are we going to get Oil 0.1L, sachet sardines with half fish, spaghetti 10g or agbado 50g? As we already have raw yams sold in slices. |

Primusinterpares:Contract splitting... ![]() But to be honest there is nothing wrong with this. I can remember products like Uncle Bens' in those days coming in all sorts of size packets, some ridiculously small. Rice was not a staple then despite the average Nigerian 'middleclasser' able to afford American long grain. It was not until Asian rice began to emerge in the late eighties that I first saw rice sold in sack bags and if course you cannot compare the quality. For some rice is not prepared in large quantities but a small part of a main course, as an ingredient for making soups and stews and some types of deserts. However the big eyeball fact is the price which is damning. Honestly inflation is a beast of no mercy. |
