DEI. Ketanji Brown wants to score political points .

Justice Jackson's Supreme Court Meltdown: Rudely Interrupting Seniors and Trampling Tradition

In the oral arguments over birthright citizenship, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson showed exactly why she's wearing out her welcome on the Supreme Court. She can't seem to follow basic rules of order, repeatedly jumping the line and steamrolling more senior justices.

Chief Justice Roberts has restored some much-needed structure to these sessions. Lawyers get a quick opening pitch, then questioning starts with the longest-serving justice and proceeds by seniority. It's a simple protocol every other justice respects.

Not Jackson. She barged in at least three times during the first round alone. First, she interrupted Justice Gorsuch mid-question—he ignored her and kept going. Then she tried to cut off Justice Barrett right after Gorsuch finished, when it was clearly Barrett's turn. Kavanaugh skipped the first round, but Jackson still couldn't wait. She interrupted Barrett again later in the same round. By the third time, a fed-up Barrett just let her ramble on.

This isn't minor bad manners. It's a blatant disregard for the traditions that keep the Court functioning as a serious institution, not a free-for-all. Jackson's impatience and self-importance signal she's indifferent to the collegiality the other justices honor. Little things like this isolate a justice fast.

The left's diversity hire is proving once again that merit and restraint matter more than identity politics. If Jackson keeps this up, she'll alienate her colleagues and turn herself into a footnote of judicial dysfunction.

Does that seem reasonable to you?

It’s sad that Trump has eaten deep into a lot of people. He has brought out the latent vileness in many of his supporters. A lot of them would need Therapy once he’s gone.

Who could have imagined that the US would one day be led by villainous president like DJT.

The US somehow needs to hold him accountable once he leaves office, to serve as a deterrent for future leaders who seek to emulate his style of leadership.

Nonsense.
As history shows, Judeo-Christian background didn't lead to freedom or egalitarian societies.
Gradual moral evolution through rebellions, wars did - and the efforts during the age of enlightenment / the renaissance, were key
True to some extent, Deep. But we have to look at the enabling factors (if you like, environment) that allowed this (egalitarian societies) to thrive. Now, It was "rebellion" that made Martin Luther, particularly the posting of his 95 Theses in 1517, that challenged the Catholic Church's practices, especially the sale of indulgences, leading to a significant split in Western Christianity known as the Protestant Reformation. Luther's actions made the Church look inwards and ultimately birthed the age of "enlightenment". People realised that they can read things for themselves (especially the Bible), learn and not be spoon fed by priests and Popes - and the Church leadership agreed!

My point is that whichever way you want to look at it, the Judeo-Christian background still remain the catalyst that is at the root of the freedoms and egalitarian societies that we have going for Western Civilisation as it is today. Luther was a Christian and after him, many other Christian "activists" came to the fore to lead many of the "improvements" in Christendom and in Western Societies that we are enjoying today.

In contrast, the Islamic religion has failed to "evolve" (as you rightly noted) over the centuries - and the result of their backwardness is evident to all as it is today. What I don't understand though is how we have progressives in places like the UK, France and even now I hear Scandinavian countries, all embracing the evil that is inherent in present day Islam. Although I read that it was "paid for". I guess we can't explain away everything, there some things that are better left to time to reveal.

This is very well and soberly written and demonstrates a good grasp of history.
What is evident there is the evolution arising from conflict of views - which is natural to the development of humanity. This has little to do with the specific dictates of a particular religion.

That’s why they are firing all of the generals that are telling them not to do it.

He is doing a great job of encouraging people to hate america which leads to more people wanting to hurt our country.

I just want to make MAGA followers fully aware that anytime Donald Trump says he’s going to target civilian infrastructure — such as Iran’s power grid or power plants — that’s a war crime.

There are common “rules of war” that civilized nations, led by moral leaders, agree to. There aren’t many — it is war, after all — but one of the most fundamental is not to attack civilian targets or key infrastructure that civilians rely on, especially when doing so would almost certainly cost civilian lives.

Actions like the ongoing threats Trump has made against Iran which would do exactly that.

You know who does that, ignores those rules and only cares about causing as much death and destruction as possible?

Terrorists.

So if you support Trump’s threats to attack civilian targets in Iran, you’re telling me your moral compass is more aligned with how terrorists view war than with civilized societies led by people who value ethics, morals, and human life.

And I don’t want to hear, “they would do it to us.”

Because you’re right — they probably would. And that’s exactly what makes them terrorists, while the United States is supposed to be a leader of the free world: a nation that leads by example through its morals, ethics, and values.

If you’re trying to justify the behavior and actions of Donald Trump — or of our nation — based on how terrorists or sponsors of terrorism conduct themselves, then how is the president, or you, any better or different than they are?

Coco, you are a reasonable person, now take a step back a bit and think about this: Trump's vituperation in the lead up to Maduro's capture and eventual incarcerations are well known. Remember how the legacy media condemned his actions, said a lot of "not very nice" things about him, mocked him and all sorts. Today, Venezuelans (regardless of what american MSM are writing and stuff) are most grateful to Trump for liberating them.

I have read in the news that many Iranians are rooting for Trump to finish the job and eliminate their oppressors.

What Trump is doing is one of the most difficult job ever undertaken by any American president in some 50 years. I don't for once think he does not know what he's doing or appreciate the enormity of what he's into. In fact, I think these terrorist IRGC guys are gradually walking into Trump's trap. I read in the news just a few hours ago that Israel has taken out the new IRGC Military Intelligence Chief, one Major-General something.

I will say let Trump and the Israelis finish the job they started. They're making huge progress as things stand. Coco should not read or listen to what will not add value. Let's stay focused, endure the transient pains inflicted on the world by these last kicks of a dying terrorist regime and the world will be a better place when they're long gone!

Two ways to view this. On one hand, it could show how broad minded he is considering that Muslims do not believe that Jesus was killed at all, not to speak of being resurrected. On the other hand, it could show him as simply a two faced politician for saying what he does not believe in.

I like the man regardless and such warm statements are beneficial to the world.
A third way to view this is, he simply understands that others believe in the resurrection and he is the Mayor of all regardless of belief, because that is what wise leaders do.

An example is the Olufon of the Orolu Kingdom. Whatever their religion, they will go church, go mosque, do Obatala, do Ogun, do Owala and bọ'osa before market every 5 days.

The wise and knowing do not let ignorant beliefs stop them doing what they know is right and proper.

In the first two paragraphs he does use words that communicate he believes things Muslims don't believe. He calls it a holy and sacred day and talks about the power of rebirth significant to Easter, etc. All of this is against Islamic teaching.
He is showing you that his own Islam teaching does not make him thoughtless and rigid and the mumu you might think he ought to be, because he learns not to be from his Quran.

Ijebos, it's actually a refreshing thing to do when you take that step and put in some effort to see the good in everyone. Hate destroys. Breeds divisions. Like I stated in one of my earlier posts, in the end, we all sleep on one bed (except maybe the likes of buda and some others, whom it appears, from some of their conversations, that they have the ability to split in two and still remain human grin grin grin) when we return from our work everyday. We should all appreciate the common things we all share and work to make people better.

I’m an emotional liberal screaming into a lake or whatever you guys call it. Please don’t call me reasonable.

Reasonable in this context being someone who sits back and looks at what is going and says yea that’s alright? No thanks.

You’re not the one who has to go work today to hold the hands of kids barely into their 20s who will never walk again because DJT can’t handle his emotions. You get to be “reasonable” from a safe distance. Not all of us have that luxury.

Oh you read on the news that Iranians want him to liberate them? Why didn’t I think of doing that?

Whose news BTW? American media right? Same Iranians whose kids are being leveled in schools and hospitals? Of course American media told you they love it.

That they are enjoying the feeling of Trump bombing their bridges while they’re are probably on it. Threatening their power plants on which many of them depend.

This is 2026, You can find whatever information that fits your mindset if you look hard enough on the internet. I’m certain any of them who were under the illusion that Trump would make things better for their country have quickly become disillusioned.

But pls don’t call me reasonable. I find it condescending even if you don’t mean it that way.
