the issue is 6th state, if south east want 6th state, all they have to do is to carve it out of their already existing 5 states, to think that south south will fold its hands while they take from its land and give to south east is just an imagination, Akpabio is only playing to the gallery and knew it can never happen.

There's one thing many of you calling for the 6th state in the south east don't know. If an additional state is created in the south east today, four will be created in the north and two or three in the west.

If you want to hear the truth there are higher possibilities of having some states before an Anioma can be created:

In the North we have the Southern Kaduna State, the Southwest have Ibadan, Ijebu and Okun in Northcentral all of which has significant population, larger landmass etc.

I would prefer we rather move to say 12regions and Parliamentary democracy. This is just a political gimmicks that may not see the light of the day.

For Anioma to be added to the SE, Igala speaking parts of Anambra and Enugu should be made into 1 state and added to the North central.

The Ijaw speaking part of Imo state, add it to Rivers state.

If the SE wants a 6th state, they should go and divide Enugu or Imo into 2.

In Anambra, only one community speak Igala, Nzam

As for Enugu State, some communities that border Nsukka and Kogi, may be. I have lived in Enugu a long time and never heard of any Igala speaking people there

Delta didn’t site its capital at Asaba….. Rtd General Ibrahim Babagida, former military president of Nigeria, whose wife is from Asaba, created Delta state from old Bendel state & sited the capital at Asaba for two significant reasons:
1. His wife is from Asaba, part of the western Igboiod subgroup called Anioma.
2. 40 - 60% of all onshore oil production in Delta state comes from Anioma region.

See the creation of Delta State like the creation of Nigeria by lugged, as a creation consummated with bedroom talks!

And he claims to speak for other tribes! Mhmm??

The issue of state creation is that one State should be created for the South-East, the only zone with 5 states, to bring it up to 6 like other zones.

Why should the South east have the same number of states like others when their population is far less, it's just to whip up political sentiment it has no logic to it ,and that's why the argument for a sixth state in the south east will always meet a brick wall.

Because drilling has ceased and moved offshore due to community restiveness stemming from Niger Delta militancy does not mean those marginal 10k barrel per day oil well operations to the north are the mainstay of Delta total output neither does it mean that Delta north has more oil reserves than the south and central.
