Activist politician, Omoyele Sowore has explained why he refused to join the Occupy INEC protest by chieftains of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Sowore explained that his protest is based on principles unlike former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who would return to Dubai where he resides permanently after elections.

ADC chieftains like Atiku, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Kwankwaso had embarked on a protest to INEC’s headquarters in Abuja over the delisting of their faction.

However, Sowore, while addressing journalists in Abuja after the protest said: “I support any form of protest against any form of irregularities, this is what we have been doing and saying that you can’t get the results we want without protest.

“They used to mock us that activists can’t be good leaders but now the people want to become activists first so that people can trust them because they know that those trusted are genuine activists.

Some of the problems we have now, they are the ones who created them when they had the opportunity. We were having a conversation inside the prison and they said the former Minister of Interior Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola, didn’t promote them for nine years and these are the people protesting now.

“I support them and I shared my fliers on my Facebook page that people should join them and we sent people to join them.

I’m not in opposition for opposition sake, I’m opposed to everything that is wrong in Nigeria, including what the opposition people were doing when they were not in opposition.

Mine is a principled opposition, their own is opposition for election and the moment the election is over, Atiku will go back to Dubai, which is where he stays permanently and you won’t see them again.”

Wise words. Atiku will return, we are the ones to bear the outcome of our own choices. So chose wisely, don't let them buy una vote! And don't snatch ballot boxes for anyone, their own kids are in Switzerland and England but you want to risk your head for people that see you as 'disposables'?

These were same people(atiku,obi, mallami, el rufai, aregbe, Mark, amaechi) that finished our country I mean wrecked it completely and now telling me to join them, never, if even I'm mad I won't.

Atiku nearly sold the entire country, th one he sold he ran away with the money to Dubai, his son inlaw ran away with loots, corrupt to the extreme now a messiah for some people.

Firstly After the last election atiku was criticized so muyi think he didn't do his Dubai rerun...

Secondly I'm beginning to like the sowere guy. He is a brilliant guy when I decided to sit down and listen to him. But he is too much of an activist to be president in my mind.

Make we no go get president wey go dey join activism and protest while in power. undecided

But most importantly some of his stance on issues are immature and I think unfit for a president. His part on the vdm/blord issue for instance.

He has mixed with content creators so much that I don't know again. lipsrsealed

I can't just fathom and imagine the kind of serious government sowere can form.

I like him do... but I think he would play a better part in areas where he currently is like activism or parts of government than need radical reforms like judiciary, prisons, education, health etc.

Sowere has been consistent and stood by what he believes over time unlike our typical politicians.

It's just unfortunate that he doesn't want such roles in any government. He wants to form his own government.

But who really knows he might actually make a good president.

I don't have much against him. Overall solid guy if we go by the saying of no one being perfect!

Why must Sowore join them? Sowore cannot join the structure of criminality to protest according to Gregory Obi. Those politicians in ADC are disgruntled elements who have participated in siphoning the financial resources of the country. What each of these politicians stole is enough to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty. When they were in power, did they use their office to better the living conditions of the people? Why did they steal public funds entrusted in their care? Why else are they looking for after spending several years in public office with nothing to show for it other than flaunting their ill-gotten wealth?

he is definitely working for Tinubu. People like Daddy Freeze and Seun Kuti are also working for Tinubu under the disguise of supporting Sowore for president. Their task is to discredit Peter Obi while giving soft jabs to Tinubu. They cannot come out openly to support Tinubu because they know the masses who they feed on will turn against them.
