I regret not applying for this. I was just 3 months into my NYSC and thought I wouldn't be done serving before the process was over. And I was told to apply here in this group I'll be done serving next month. Is there any graduate trainee recruitment we should be expecting in the oil and gas sector soon? |

Quick reminder for NLNG/large company recruitment threads: use ONLY official channels. Scam checklist: - No legit recruiter asks for ‘registration fee’ or OTP. - Confirm the job link is on the company’s official domain, not a random form/shortlink. - If someone DMs you to ‘help’ for a fee, ignore. Application tip: tailor your CV to the role family (Operations/Engineering/Finance/IT) and put your top 2 relevant projects + measurable outcomes on page 1. |

Thought to put this out there for who cares to read. Sometimes, life works in funny ways, ways beyond what your mind will easily track. I was very doubtful upon writing the first test, I panicked and most of my answers were based on elimination with "strategic" guesses; I was unsure of most save about three questions; I thought it was over and paused to reflect on what had just happened as soon as i clicked the submit button. I felt the performance I had put in didn't reflect my cognitive abilities and I was displeased, knowing I could have done way better. New year came, more persons were invited to write the test and my doubts persisted. Fastforward to when groups started buzzing with "invitation to second level ability test" again; I worriedly laid in bed clinging on to the slightest ray of hope, and at about the 20th reload, the mail dropped! In that moment, I felt the Universe had come together to make this happen; and took it as another chance to make things happen. So, I prepared like my life depended on it; I barely had any sleep in the build up to the Assessment. What didn't I do? I simulated the pressure levels of the real test; especially the Numerical Reasoning, solving 4 questions in 6 minutes (1.5mpq--minutes per question), as opposed to 10 questions in 18 minutes (1.8mpq) in the real test. Practiced all the behavioural questions I could find, watched videos on how to approach them in Organisational context; NLNG in this case, didn't spare the Inductive Reasoning either. No long talk, I wrote the test and was confident I had put in a great performance. 5 questions into the Numerical test, I had used only 6 minutes and had over 12 minutes left, every ounce of pressure disappeared for me, and I calmly solved through the questions. From my practice, I could see through the tricky nature of the JFA questions, and the patterns of the Inductive were a complete walkover, at least, so I thought. Completed the assessment, and I stood up hitting my fist against the air "Upper cut style" in celebration of what I thought was a stellar performance, said prayers to God and went on to reward myself with food for what had been an intense past couple of weeks filled with sleepless nights. Should we fast forward again or jump? Let's jump! Jumping to when the infamous "mails don dey drop o" touched base like a US F-15E Strike Fighter Jet, but this time in WhatsApp groups. Tensed, but very hopeful, I picked my phone to check my mail and I indeed got a mail notification.......but not from my dearly beloved NLNG. . And, I've still been reloading, this time around not for the one I'd hoped to get. Sad, yeah? But, in that moment, I realised that the only thing you owe to yourself is to leave it all on the table at every chance you get! And, I indeed left it all out. Reminds me of the "Chelsea vs Real Madrid 2022 UCL Clash"; Chelsea clearly deserved the win but Modric's nasty pass to Rodrygo sent all their efforts down the drain; Reece James said after that match " We left it all out there and sometimes it just isn't enough". I don't like chelsea fans, though, but you get the point . Sometimes, everytime, you've got to leave it all out and even if it isn't enough? You go again with more fire!Regardless, I still look forward to visiting RA (Fun fact: Streets in NLNG RA are named after Cities in Nigeria e.g Akure, Abuja, etc. I don really do research mehn ), taking a swim in the pool and using the gym, also seeing the renovated Finima Park and enjoying the peace and quiet of Nature at the Finima Beach. This life thing, yeah? And, yes, i'm still reloading. ![]() Thank you for reading! |

This is exactly how I felt after the exam. To make sure I was properly prepared I went extra mile to buy Shl practice test course on Jobtestprep for almost $90. But that's the beauty of life. You just never know. I do have a satisfaction that I gave it my all. That's enough closure for me. horlatayorr: |

U horlatayorr:What a similar experience we had. Though, I wasn't sure of my numerical, but trusted God. I still believe that he didn't fail me. Perhaps he got better things in store for me. Omo... I did sleepless nights o. I recalled walking to and fro our gated compound around 11pm one of the preparation nights, reading the NLNG's codes of conduct, just to have more elaborated and unique explanation of their core values, and also understand the dos and the don'ts of the organisation. But like they say, we plan, but God is the best of planners |
