People who fought for democracy just to become as terrible as those they once fought.

That means fighting for democracy was just a grand scheme of getting into powerful positions, not out of genuine love for country

Today, Bayo Onanuga, a 70-year-old senior domestic servant, works for a NADECO wannabe and self-acclaimed democrat who has turned out worse than Abacha.

And today, he became WORSE than Abacha.

Abacha knew that they were fake activists.

They make alot of NOISE, claim to be Democrats, but are really vagabonds in power.

You're misreading someone’s character based on a single stance.

This is why some people don't think Sowore for example will be a good leader. He may be good at calling out what is wrong but Mugabe has shown us how critics can become their own worst critic.

Not everyone who criticized the military meant good. Not everyone who criticizes Democracy or the government of the day also means good. We have
1. Context-dependent judgment: this is where something looks looks right in a case.

2. Group loyalty or identity signaling: ADC, APC, ACN, CPC, NADECO, nPDP, Obidients, PDP, SDP and any group can make people go under an umbrella. If you notice that everyone in the diaspora chooses Sowore, people in the diaspora will choose it. That's why a lot of people protested against subsidy. The opposition saw the sentiment and organized people into a group. A group can stand for a good cause but not every member believes in it. Some cannot think for themsleves. We had Save Nigeria Group that protested the alienation of Jonathan when Yar Adua was sick still protest in OccupyNigeria in 2012. Yet when the members of this group joined government, they clamped against protests. I personally do not do groupthink because things are never in a static state, they are fluid but your principles will always be constant. So the question is, what were/are Onanuga's principles?

3. Outcome-based reasoning ("I support this because I like what it leads to" )
People take advantage of situations to be on the popular side. People read the room. It is what we call alignment. Some people e plot situations because they know what the result will be and this makes for the last one which is event justification ("I chose X, so I’ll explain it in a way that sounds consistent". I don't need to explain this but some people have been patching their stories just to sound consistent. They want to build a story.

We all change in life and we only assess information based on the information we have or what we know. People can acknowledge where they made a mistake or even explain why they did what they did. Popular examples are Tai Solarin and Wole Soyinka working for government.

Someone can preach the right way of doing things but that doesn't mean they consistently believe in those values, they wouldn't justify the same behavior if ABC did it or they aren't just reacting emotionally or situationally So later, when they flip or contradict themselves, it feels like betrayal but really, the mistake was assuming they had a stable principle in the first place.

The same democracy fighter was defending Tinubu for removing Rivers state elected governor for 6 months
