Please answer the question specifically the same way you phrased it rather than this broad and vague escapist response. Tell us what just one invention which is owed to Christianity and and which would not exist but for Christianity.

Besides this, are you seriously claiming that all the inventions of mankind arise exclusively from Judeo Christian backgrounds?

FOr real TV01, one last time, tell me this is what you are saying.

I hope not because nothing could be more illiterate.

+
Jesus Christ of Nazareth. So an educated man actually believes that only Judeo Christian Cultures invent things?

Na wah.

This is beyond me.

+
Every religion can say the exact same thing about its dark past.

+
Unlike this, I presented you with Bible verses that clearly advocate the murder of witches and slavery.
You are yet to address those verses.

+
Amazing. So you are actually saying that Christian Nations did not cite the bible to justify slavery.

Look, I am tired. I cant keep debating anyone who says the opposite of history.

I will just leave this here for posterity - I extract -

-------------

Historically, the Bible was frequently used as a primary tool by pro-slavery advocates, particularly in the American South and during European colonial expansion. The arguments generally relied on specific interpretations of both the Old and New Testaments to frame slavery as a divinely sanctioned or "natural" institution.

Here is a breakdown of the primary biblical evidence cited to justify slavery:

The "Curse of Ham" (Genesis 9:20–27)
This was perhaps the most influential scriptural justification used for racialized slavery.

The Narrative: After the Great Flood, Noah becomes drunk, and his son Ham sees him naked. Noah subsequently curses Ham’s son, Canaan, stating, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers."

The Interpretation: Pro-slavery theologians argued that Africans were the descendants of Ham/Canaan. By claiming this lineage, they framed the enslavement of Black people not as a human choice, but as the fulfillment of a divine decree.

Abrahamic Precedent and the Patriarchs
Advocates pointed to the lives of the biblical patriarchs to argue that slavery was compatible with a holy life.

Ownership: Proponents noted that Abraham, considered the "father of faith," held enslaved people (Genesis 14:14, 21:9–10).

Divine Instruction: They cited Genesis 17, where God instructs Abraham to circumcise everyone in his household, including those "bought with money from any foreigner," which was used to suggest that God recognized the legality of purchasing human beings.

The Mosaic Law (Leviticus 25:44–46)
While the Bible contained laws protecting Hebrew servants, pro-slavery writers focused on the distinction made regarding "foreigners."

The Text: Leviticus states, "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you... you can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life."

The Argument: This passage was used to prove that "chattel slavery" (treating humans as inheritable property) was explicitly permitted by God for non-Israelites.

New Testament "Household Codes"
Pro-slavery advocates argued that if Jesus or the Apostles intended to abolish slavery, they would have said so explicitly. Instead, they pointed to instructions for how enslaved people should behave.

Pauline Epistles: Verses such as Ephesians 6:5 ("Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear " ) and Colossians 3:22 were frequently read from pulpits to keep enslaved populations submissive.

1 Peter 2:18: This verse instructs servants to submit to their masters "not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh."

The Epistle to Philemon: In this letter, the Apostle Paul sends a runaway enslaved man, Onesimus, back to his master, Philemon. Pro-slavery proponents used this as "apostolic proof" that the legal rights of slaveholders must be respected.

The "Providential" Argument
Beyond specific verses, a broader "Providential" argument emerged in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Civilizing Mission: Many clergy argued that slavery was a "mercy" because it brought "heathens" from Africa into contact with Christianity, supposedly saving their souls through forced labor in a Christian land.

Historical Note: It is important to recognize that during the same era, Abolitionists used the same Bible to argue the opposite. They focused on the "Imago Dei" (the belief that all humans are created in the image of God) and the Exodus narrative (God liberating the Israelites from Egyptian bondage) to demand an end to the institution.

Its a waste of time listening to anyone who denies that verses in the Bible were used to justify slavery.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy

The term democracy first appeared in ancient Greek political and philosophical thought in the city-state of Athens during classical antiquity.[49][50] The word comes from dêmos '(common) people' and krátos 'force/might'.[51] Under Cleisthenes, what is generally held as the first example of a type of democracy in the sixth-century BC (508–507 BC) was established in Athens. Cleisthenes is referred to as "the father of Athenian democracy".[52] The first attested use of the word democracy is found in prose works of the 430s BC, such as Herodotus' Histories, but its usage was older by several decades, as two Athenians born in the 470s were named Democrates, a new political name—likely in support of democracy—given at a time of debates over constitutional issues in Athens. Aeschylus also strongly alludes to the word in his play The Suppliants, staged in c.463 BC, where he mentions "the demos's ruling hand" [demou kratousa cheir]. Before that time, the word used to define the new political system of Cleisthenes was probably isonomia, meaning political equality.[53]

Modern bust of Cleisthenes, known as "the father of Athenian democracy", on view at the Ohio Statehouse, Columbus, Ohio
Athenian democracy took the form of direct democracy, and it had two distinguishing features: the random selection of ordinary citizens to fill the few existing government administrative and judicial offices,[54] and a legislative assembly consisting of all Athenian citizens.[55] All eligible citizens were allowed to speak and vote in the assembly, which set the laws of the city-state. However, Athenian citizenship excluded women, slaves, foreigners (μέτοικοι / métoikoi), and youths below the age of military service.[56][57][contradictory] Effectively, only 1 in 4 residents in Athens qualified as citizens. Owning land was not a requirement for citizenship.[58] The exclusion of large parts of the population from the citizen body is closely related to the ancient understanding of citizenship. In most of antiquity the benefit of citizenship was tied to the obligation to fight war campaigns.[59]

Athenian democracy was not only direct in the sense that decisions were made by the assembled people, but also the most direct in the sense that the people through the assembly, boule and courts of law controlled the entire political process and a large proportion of citizens were involved constantly in the public business.[60] Even though the rights of the individual were not secured by the Athenian constitution in the modern sense (the ancient Greeks had no word for "rights"[61]), those who were citizens of Athens enjoyed their liberties not in opposition to the government but by living in a city that was not subject to another power and by not being subjects themselves to the rule of another person.[62]

Range voting appeared in Sparta as early as 700 BC. The Spartan ecclesia was an assembly of the people, held once a month, in which every male citizen of at least 20 years of age could participate. In the assembly, Spartans elected leaders and cast votes by range voting and shouting (the vote is then decided on how loudly the crowd shouts). Aristotle called this "childish", as compared with the stone voting ballots used by the Athenian citizenry. Sparta adopted it because of its simplicity, and to prevent any biased voting, buying, or cheating that was predominant in the early democratic elections.[63]

Nonetheless I am not sure it is fair for you to use ISIS as the benchmark.
You would make no mention of the Greater Israel Project would you, notwithstanding that its map is on the uniforms of the IDF and covers parts of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia?
Me and TV01 are stating that no worthwhile innovation can come out of a society whose core tenets are anti education.
ISIS is the perfect example of how life was in that Islamic golden age, the perfect system advocated by the extreme groups of Sunni Islam ie the Wahabbis and Salafists. What do you expect from a society that has instructions of how a man can divorce his wife before she has her very first menstrual period.

Israel is a functioning society ,well established .If they plan to expand territory it will be out of security. Hezbollah can't hold territory which they use to fire rockets and missiles to Israel . Hamas too. Every neighbor wants to exterminate them to the last man, what the Quran tells them.
I don't know much about the Greater Israel Project though ,I doubt there's any plan for it apart from securing Judea and Samaria.
If Muslim nations recognized and stopped funding the destruction of Israel there would be no iron dome or whatever you call the Greater Israel Project.

Bless you again.

TV01/basilico - note that the basis of much of today's western society - democracy - did not have a Judeo-Christian origin. It originated in a pre-Christian Greek setting.

In fact I dare add that democracy is at complete variance with Judeo-Christian systems of governance - a thing which we also see in GloriousGbola's last extract on the presumption of the Divine right of Kings.

We grew up believing that America was a true representative democracy. That was not quite the truth. The Three-Fifth’s Compromise is one of the tenets of our Democracy that continues to affect us in 2019 and beyond. That constitutional “Compromise” counted enslaved persons as three-fifths of a white person. This policy was adopted during the drafting of the Constitution in 1787. In short, America was establishing how to count population for the House of Representatives and later on for the Electoral College.

Slave states advocated to count slaves in their population figures to increase their presence in the House of Representatives. Free states only wanted to count free people. The number of legislators from each state became dependent on the state’s population. It is one of the reasons we have a census every 10 years. The southern states were ultimately successful in to stacking the deck with a 3/5ths bounce on their total population figures. This disparity helped them to control congress and safeguard their economic system based on the cotton trade. It also increased the likelihood of winning elections through the Electoral College. It insured that the first three out of four presidential elections were won by southerners.

Hamas and Boko Haram are living Islam in exactly the way of the prophet and the early Caliphates.
That's my misgivings about their golden age.
Muslim territorial capture in India began in the 8th century and reached its peak between the 12th and 16th centuries. Long before these conquests, India was a world-renowned center for higher education, home to some of the world's first residential universities.
I am of the opinion that many Indians were forced to convert and became symbols of Islamic innovation. Appropriation in other words. I have no proof of that for now
Long and short, out of Islamic education ,you don't expect anything substantial.
Refer to ISIS, Al Shabab, Taliban as modern day examples of a pure Islamic society.

All they require is a “new opponent” each time. With some accounts you already know to expect so you don’t even bother.

Islam tenets todate disagree with modern science in many areas ,but the science is proven so they have to adopt or live in the stone ages. I have a lot of reservation on the Islamic golden age.
Many Muslims believe Neil Armstrong heard the adhan ( Islamic call to prayer) on the moon. When he returned he converted to Islam. It's a debunked hoax still widely believed by muslim world. An example of Islam taking credit from others.

Indians invented the zero.

Indian mathematicians, such as Brahmagupta (around 628 CE), were the first to treat zero (shunya) as a number in its own right, not just a placeholder. They developed the rules for adding, subtracting, and multiplying with it.

2. The Preservation & Expansion (The Islamic World)In the 9th century, Persian and Arab scholars—most famously Al-Khwarizmi—studied these Indian texts. They adopted the Indian system because it was much more efficient than their own systems or the Roman ones.Al-Khwarizmi wrote a famous book explaining how to use these "Hindu numerals."

I've belaboured to point out that Islam education doesn't promote innovation.
Ive cast doubts about their achievements of their golden age. One day their prophet told a few followers to drink camel urine yo relieve a sickness they had.

Today.

That's the inherent ptoblem in Islam.

I won't mention the origins of the zam zam water. Which is sold in Mecca today.

Islam practices replay what their prophet said and did,no matter how absurd it is.

If we talk colonialism, the west was after raw materials. The colonialists developed their territories including building railways that still stand today. After direct colonization, they embarked on neo colonization which is not 100% exploitation.

Muslim hordes on the other hand took the wealth, captured and sold slaves , took over the land , spread Islam by force and exacted heavy tolls on the conquered.

Would you rather live under Spanish or Portuguese conquerors or Muslim ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943

The Bengal famine of 1943 was a famine during World War II in the Bengal Province and Orissa Province of British Raj. An estimated 800,000–3.8 million people died,[A] in the Bengal region (present-day Bangladesh and West Bengal), from starvation, malaria and other diseases aggravated by malnutrition, population displacement, unsanitary conditions, poor British wartime policies, and lack of health care.[7] Millions were impoverished as the crisis overwhelmed large segments of the economy and catastrophically disrupted the social fabric. Eventually, families disintegrated; men sold their small farms and left home to look for work or to join the British Indian Army, and women and children became homeless migrants, often travelling to Calcutta or other large cities in search of organised relief.

Doctor Bervell didn’t assume that because he got into medical school, his hard work was enough. He recognized that if he himself were to need a kidney transplant, he would wait longer than a white person of similar circumstances just because of his race. He spoke up and raised awareness and the issue got the attention it deserved.

When ignorant folks on Nairaland tell you that racism in America isn’t a thing, you have to understand the limited mindset from which they speak.

Despite their sellout attitude , I hope they can still benefit from the works of people with “victim mentality” like Doctor Bervell.

Black patients faced longer waits for kidney transplants because of a race-based formula until medical student Joel Bervell explained the issue in videos that reached millions in 2022.

Joel Bervell created straightforward videos explaining the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) formula. The older version included a race-based multiplier that increased scores for Black patients. This overestimated their kidney function and delayed specialist referrals and transplant listings.

In 2021, the National Kidney Foundation and American Society of Nephrology recommended removing race from the calculation. Early in 2023, the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network required all U.S. kidney transplant centers to use a race-neutral equation and review past cases.

A study published March 9, 2026, in JAMA Internal Medicine found that more than 21,000 Black Americans received wait-time modifications. This added a median of 1.7 years to their time on the transplant list and was associated with an increase of 5.3 kidney transplants per 1,000 Black candidates.

"It essentially assumed that all Black patients had better kidney functioning than any other race," Bervell said.

His videos helped raise awareness and supported more equitable care for patients in the community.
