Kudos to the lsstf great idea nurtured by Tinubu as governor of the state, they should also consider renovating their police barracks most of them looks inhabitable.
One on a lighter note, Lagos is the safest state in Nigeria right now, no incident of even one case of kidnapping in over 1 year or bank and major armed robbery case. The police are working couple with the support from the government of Lagos State.

We need modern facilities for all our PHCs in all our local governments too.

You sit in Lagos and claim Lagos is all Nigeria and things do not happen else. That was how one said it is only Lagos that has functioning PHC's Nationwide and other States do not have

Extortion is directly linked to poor pay, welfare package and remuneration. As simple as that.

I am pretty sure Nigerian police are treated the worst in the world yet we expect miracles from them.

Only a mischievous, insincere or unreasonable person who has never stepped outside Nigeria, to note how police officers are treated elsewhere, will deny that poor pay and renumeration is a direct contributory factor to the NPF being riddled with corruption, to augment grossly inadequate salaries, that affects professionalism and efficiency.

Your statement, in bold, is totally asinine because the police cannot attract the best men and women in Nigeria to join its ranks if it cannot provide them with good salary and rewarding careers.

If a Policeman unhappy with grossly inadequate pay resigns, as you callously suggest instead of demanding they be paid fair wages and looked after well if a compassionate Nigerian, who replaces him other than an unscrupulous Nigerian who knows he can augment what is ludicrously insufficient pay with bribes, extortion and even false imprisonment of others?

If all good men and woman, who are our brightest, avoid the police because of criminally poor pay, do you want to go and recruit from Somalia, Niger Republic, Uganda or Mali?

This is why I wrote "if" regarding Delta State. What I know with Lagos though, even as no State is corruption-free, is that it is a State, unlike many others, that has mainly always delivered as it says it will since 1999.

Look at the Lagos Metro rail critics mocked as an "Avenue of looting". It is fantastic today with blue line soon to extend from Marina (where it currently terminates) to Epe.

Meanwhile the intra-city rail projects Amaechi and Peter Obi 'signed' MOUs for are a distant memory today.

Improving the working environment for our officers is a key step toward better security. Hopefully, the 'modern' part is not just about the building, but also about the equipment and the way they relate with the public. Good job to the Lagos State Government. Such development should also be replicated in other sectors of the State.
