I don't think a return to the gold standard is possible, the world has moved way too far off that way of doing things to return. The strength of your currency will today be determined by the strength of your economy. And by your regulations.

In terms of what currency can futuristically challenge the dollar, it will have to be a currency supported by a substantial grouping of countries which is the reason the USA detests BRICS as it is the only current viable grouping that may come up with a globally acceptable currency of trade other than the dollar.

The minute the dollar has a replacement or alternative, that is the end of US dominance of the world. In fact anyone who knows what's up knows that is the real way to break US hegemony and not any military way. This is why the US will go to war to protect the dollar's position.
The EU is more trustworthy than anything Putin , Xi Jinpin could ever come up with. In the first case those are developing economies

Yes China is a developing economy according to WTO. It's exports qualify for lower tariffs within the WTO framework.
Currently China exports more manufactured goods than America, America GDP is heavily dependent on services.

No, they’re too macho and they’ve got life all figured out.
As a healthcare professional, I can tell them for free.99 that it takes only one health accident for all the perfect planning in the world to go down the drain.

Even those insurance company CEOs they bootlick will kick them to curb so fast they won’t even finish a sentence before they hit the concrete.

One misplaced blood clot. One mutation in the wrong cell. One accidentally torn blood vessel. Then they’ll understand how someone who has worked a good job their whole life, pays their monthly insurance premiums and saved a bunch of money can all of a sudden be left with absolutely nothing.

The family members will have to decide whether to put them in a care home (that they can’t afford btw) or stay at home and take care of them indefinitely. It’s also the people in their conservative camp that will turn around and call said family member lazy and dependent on welfare.

When the only choice they have is to work a job that doesn’t cover the care fees of their loved ones or stay home and receive benefits such as food stamps so they can at least be available for their sick family and have food while at it. And this is just one tiny example.

But what do I know? I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’ve only seen this happen a few hundred times in my >decade of being a nurse. Definitely not an informed opinion by any means. Just an emotional bleeding heart liberal over here. 🙋🏾‍♀️😒

The sad thing is that it is when life happens to them as it can to all humans and they need that back up humane system and it is not there - that is when they finally get the simple logic that the system should have back up systems of support for the vulnerable built into various areas of need, such as healthcare, pensions, old age, shelter, unemployment assistance etc. Its what the whole society contributes to, not to give away to the careless, but to protect its most vulnerable who could be anyone at anytime.

Call it whatever, but that it will overtake the USA is a given.

Besides, note that the WTO allows countries to self-designate. And there are benefits to self designating as developing.
Neither the World Bank nor the IMF class China as such.

Sidney Powell vindicated.
....in a 24-page ruling by the Texas Court of Appeals, the court rules Texas Bar miserably failed to prove Sidney Powell acted in “dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation” in the four lawsuits she filed against the overthrow of the United States government on Nov 3, 2020.

No, I said no one should be forced to do so. I volunteer, give stuff to chariter. I give $10 every month.
Taxes are statutory by the government. It’s an obligation that you pay your taxes. So rather than see it as being forced, see it as your civic duty.

It is what keeps basic amenities running.

No... No one is saying that. We said how much is too much. I am happy to pay 5 to 10% of my income. In the UK it can get up to 45 to 50%

When someone pass away, they tax the inherited wealth despite the tax the previous owners has been paying.

We say the government is asking for too much, you said they can decide whatever they want and we should Pay it. So which of the statement is lobbish?
The government isn’t asking too much.

Pay the tax joor.

I Dey pay my own here for Nigeria.

South Africa Justus Malema sentenced to 5 years for illegally firing a rifle in 2018.

Sounds like South Africa structures and systems still work .
Trump had asked Ramaphosa at the WH why Malema had not been charged

Corruption flows in democrats veins. The Democrat front runner campaign PAC bought 2/3 of his own memoir

Gov. Newsom used donor funds from his PAC to buy $1.5 million worth of his book prompting critics to accuse the Democrat of money laundering

Gov. Gavin Newsom used his political action committee to purchase 67,000 copies of his own new memoir - which is about two-thirds of all the print copies sold, according to federal records

Newsom’s PAC, called the Campaign for Democracy Committee, paid $1,561,875 to buy and ship the books

About 67,000 people who gave any amount, even just a few bucks, to the PAC received a free copy of the book.

97,400 print copies sold since the book launched, according to Circana BookScan

That means the PAC’s purchases made up about two-thirds of every copy sold.

In both his 2023 and 2024 personal financial disclosure reports, Newsom reported receiving $10,000 to $100,000 from his publishing agent, Elyse Cheney Literary Associates specifically listed as a "book advance"

Which critics say was an advanced payment with the guarantee that Newsom's PAC would be purchasing $1.5 million in books.

The book is titled Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery. Newsom - and the claim is that it's a 'best seller'

When lying is all you know.
Haircuts aren't taxed in the US in mostly all states.
Next he will say the private jet his company gave him, flew him to one of these states to get his haircut.

If you're going to pretend to live in the US, pretend better.

There are some things you don't understand and would never understand.

line item on your receipt for a haircut, the cost of doing business including taxes is always baked into the price you pay.

To this:

And both are wrong.
1.) Most states don't charge taxes on haircuts in the US. Including the state, WA, that you pretend to live in.
2.) Taxes are not baked in. They are explicitly calculated in mostly every receipt you get.

But please move on to the next lie.
Cuz lying is all you know.

He tries so hard to pretend to live in the US and always gets tripped up by the details everyone who actually lives in the US would know.

Fake news. She was not exonerated whatsoever. She is still guilty of the charges brought against her. The judgement by the Texas BODA says her offense for which she has received probation do not rise to the bar for compulsory disciplinary action, ostensibly because they are misdemeanours. The BODA didn't say she was exonerated so stop your fake news. Besides this judgement was last year, be for freaking real.

You obviously dont know anything about the dollar as fiat money. And the position of the USA in the world ecosystem of fiat money.
If you did, you will understand that they are the only country who can afford to engage in abundant quantitative easing and cash printing without the necessary inflationary effect.

And this is completely surplus to the fact that they can afford it even without that.
The bold is not true.

The more they print, the more their currency loses value, and the more those they borrow from demand higher interest.

USA is currently replacing sub 1% T-bills repayable in less than a year, for post 4% bonds repayable in 5-30 years, because lenders are demanding more to mitigate inflation.

Do you know what Quantitative Easing is?

How did the USA raise the money for Covid Checks. Tell me.
The consequence was inflation!
