When Peter asked Jesus a very serious question:


“We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” ‭Matthew 19:27 NIV‬

What is Jesus' response?


Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

So according to Jesus if anyone has left a father to follow Jesus will he be blessed with many fathers?

Are those many fathers his biological or spiritual fathers in the Lord?

Well there is nothing wrong in having many spiritual fathers but then there is one father we all have who has the final say Jesus said that is our heavenly Father! Matthew 23:8-10 compare to John 20:17

So what is the practical application of these scriptures?

Just as children are to obey their parents in line with the what God said {Ephesians 6:1} all our spiritual fathers should be in union with the Lord so that there won't be contradicting counsels from those we view as our spiritual fathers! 1Corinthans 1:10; 1Peter 3:8

This means if two elderly men aren't in agreement regarding doctrine then they are not sound spiritual fathers but worldly fathers who teaches children according to their own thoughts unlike Jesus who always teaches his disciples (children) just as his father taught him! John 5:30

Who is a Spiritual Father?

A spiritual father is a mature Christian leader who provides mentorship, covering, doctrinal guidance, and accountability to foster a believer’s spiritual maturity.

Can a believer have more than one Spiritual Father?
No,
You can have multiple Mentors or Guardians in Christ, but you can not have more than one Father.

1 Corinthians 4:15-17

15. Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
1 Corinthians 4:17

16. I urge you to imitate me.

17. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

How To Identify Your Spiritual Father?

For the fact that you worship in a church does not mean that the Overall Head of that church is automatically your Spiritual Father.
Only Jesus Christ assigns a Spiritual Father to a believer.
Your Spiritual Father may be the Over Head of your former Church or someone else.
It can as well be the Overall Head of your current church.
To identify your Spiritual Father, therefore, you have to seek the help of the Holy Spirit to reveal him to you.
You can have multiple Mentors or Guardians in Christ, but you can not have more than one Spiritual Father.
Another thing about a Spiritual Father, is that, your Spiritual Father may not even know you from Adam, but in dreams, you will be interacting with each other.
He is the foundation for your calling.

If you choose a wrong person as your Spiritual Father, YOU ARE LOST!

INTRODUCTION

Who is a Spiritual Father?

A spiritual father is a mature Christian leader who provides mentorship, covering, doctrinal guidance, and accountability to foster a believer’s spiritual maturity.

Can a believer have more than one Spiritual Father?
No,
You can have multiple Mentors or Guardians in Christ, but you can not have more than one Father.

1 Corinthians 4:15-17

15. Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
1 Corinthians 4:17

16. I urge you to imitate me.

17. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

How To Identify Your Spiritual Father?

For the fact that you worship in a church does not mean that the Overall Head of that church is automatically your Spiritual Father.
Only Jesus Christ assigns a Spiritual Father to a believer.
Your Spiritual Father may be the Over Head of your former Church or someone else.
It can as well be the Overall Head of your current church.
To identify your Spiritual Father, therefore, you have to seek the help of the Holy Spirit to reveal him to you.
You can have multiple Mentors or Guardians in Christ, but you can not have more than one Spiritual Father.
Another thing about a Spiritual Father, is that, your Spiritual Father may not even know you from Adam, but in dreams, you will be interacting with each other.
He is the foundation for your calling.

If you choose a wrong person as your Spiritual Father, YOU ARE LOST!

I am speaking from experience, inspired by the Holy Spirit .

When you're filled by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit / anointing will teach you all things, even the deep things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:10.

A life without divine guidance, is a life in chaos.

Seek the in-filling of the Holy Spirit today, and become wiser.

Benefits of having a Spiritual Father:

(1) Spiritual Coverings: A man without a Spiritual Father is running a risk.
Spiritual Father provides coverings that no other person can provide

(2) Empowerment: Impartation of anointing

(3) A Life of Maximum Grace

(4) Spiritual Maturity and Mentorship: They act as coaches, building character and discipline, similar to the relationship between Paul and Timothy.

(5) Guidance and Protection: They offer protection (like a shepherd) and, through their experience, help navigate life's decisions, preventing mistakes and fostering growth.

(6) Impartation of Maximum Grace: They pass down spiritual authority, mantles, and insights gained from their own walk with God.

(7) Accountability and Covering: They provide a safe space for correction and prayer, covering you spiritually and creating a strong foundation for your calling.

( Identity and Legacy: They help clarify your calling, often providing a "spiritual family" and ensuring the continuation of godly values and legacy.

(9) Opportunities for Growth: They provide platforms to serve and develop your skills.

Seek the help of Holy Spirit today, to reveal your Spiritual Father to you.
