People have preferences. Until it's made mandatory like they always impose things on people here, citizens might not look that way ..

mostly, just for the convenience to swap sims between physical sim phones. Esim phones aren't cheap and aren't readily available compared to physical sims imho.

I use one eSIM and one physical sim on my phone and I can tell few challenges with eSIM

1 . During phone repairs I just remove the physical sim and but in a small phone but the eSIM is stock

eSIM is free. Just go to your network provider’s office.

WIth Esim you cannot easily yank off the sim to use on another phone when your battery runs down, it is one phone, until you go throught the stress of disconnecting it and reconnecting to another phone.

When an E_sim phone gets bad, you go to the service provider for the QR code and rescanning. However, when a physical sim phone gets bad, all you need do is remove the sim and insert in another phone. Finally, not all phones supports E-sim.

Thank you for this information. I tried to do it at one mtn centre in computer village but they're charging me 10k

If I buy those iPhone that is network lock or unlock,the one that uses chip. Can the esim be worked permanently on it?

We have an attachment to what we can see and feel. Our fear is that once we lose it, the digital for is not something we can hold to. No evidence, you go explain tire.

E-sim will digitally monitor you. With a physical SIM, you can manually remove the card to guarantee the cellular network cannot track your location or identity. With an eSIM, the hardware is permanently soldered inside the phone. However, you run the risk of also losing your device once you remove the sim so thieves love physical sim. Hackers can also hack the account to takeover the eSIM too

In all spheres of the world, they are digitizing many things and the danger of that is that you don't own it anymore, you are only a subscriber. Even with something as little as books, people are building their own libraries instead of this digital record that some people erase at their will. I don't mean to divert but I've seen events that happened in the last 15 years erased from the internet because the people in power don't want us to have any remembrance of what they once did. Remember George Orwell's 1984....

phones with the function are still very limited to flagship models and some upper midrange

As long as europe does not mandate it, then there will always be an option.
I read they want to go back to the era of removable battery soon.

ease of transferring ur sim to other fones with plug and play convenience.

eSIM is far more secure! I just feel people have not adjusted. My eSIM is in my mail, I can swap at will too!

Walk into their outlet with your nin it would be done free of charge. The process doesn’t even take 10mins

The stress of that stuff is damaging.

I have been using esim for a while. But there's usually issue with transferring from one phone to another without stress.

I recently attempts moving my airtel esim to another phone and na there I get issue. Two ko Tha after, I haven't been able to retrieve my airtel line because it is postpaid.

MTN also have their own issues. I have it on my Google pixel but I had wanted to move to my iPhone. But as I no want wahala I just left it there make I no go lose all my lines.

I can't use my precious airtel line

Can’t be the same phone number. A phone number cannot be associated with more than one sim(physical or ESIM).
