This man obviously thought that he was still in his jungle village in Nigeria where all living things are classified either as "Big Meat", or as "Small Meat", which are all created to be killed and gobbled up as food by villagers.

Good thing he was arrested. I hope he has learnt his lessons. However, he may have killed the cat out of ignorance thinking it's an edible animal over there.

If that is the case, his crime should not be labelled 'animal cruelty'. He should be charged with killing of animal prohibited for food.

Your claim is not true at all because I happen to know that in RURAL Nigeria, traps are set by hungry people SPECIFICALLY to catch cats for food.

Furthermore, black cats are regarded as ideal subjects in Nigeria, for juju-witchdoctor sacrifices, so much so that you will hardly ever see a black cat anywhere in Nigeria. People who sell cats for food and fetish juju applications often use hair coloring chemicals to dye cats pure black, since that color is in such high demand by superstitious people with a cruel streak.

Truth, as they way. is stranger than fiction.

Thank you for standing to be corrected. I know of SEVERAL Nigerians who LOVE eating cats, so unless you intend to change their nationality remotely, please accept that your presumption is 100% wrong.
