It's the buyer's fault. He didn't take his time to read the description. I've bought a lot of things from Temu and I've never been disappointed.
Temu is scamming Nigerians

I was a temu addict last year, so I know what I'm saying. I literally bought stuffs almost every month.
It's either People don't read or they don't understand the dimensions written.
Let's even say there are no information, no wahala. What of reviews? Can't dey check for reviews?....
It's the customer's fault not temu.
Temu reviews are not reliable either. I can testify to that.

I shopped online for the first time in 2002. Two shoes and a home lighter after a friend in US sent a $100 voucher. (Oh, Nipost delivered two of the items and stole one.)

I have been shopping on Jumia and Konga since around 2012 - can't recall the exact year.

I have been shopping steadily on Amazon since 2018. It's where I get all my shoes and most of the supplements I take to manage my conditions.

I have been shopping on AliExpress steadily since around 2018.

And I have shopped on Temu since last year.

These things people complain about, only AliExpress and Temu have these issues. My rule these days is that there are certain things I won't buy from certain places. For Temu, I restrict myself to the fencing wires I used on my farm and few kitchen tools - because I know all I have to do is check the dimensions.

Since the day Temu put up a whole machine whereas it was just the blade of the machine they were going to ship, I learnt my lesson. I've also bought a pen from them I can't use - because it doesn't work.

The only online platform I buy shoes from today is Amazon - because the dimensions are always perfect. I also buy supplements there because they don't put up fake reviews or delete bad reviews.

Even Nigeria's Jumia and Konga are better than Temu. Konga deletes bad reviews but they don't go so much out of their way to trick you into thinking something is something it's not the way Temu does.

AliExpress is still better than Temu because it's on a shop by shop basis, while Temu is not. I once ordered an item on AliExpress, and the seller sent me a message to cancel, that the item I ordered was just a stick and not what I thought it was. So why did you put it up in the first place?

Why are there so many complaints about Temu? Because we're all idiots who can't read labels? Amazon, Konga, Jumia, etc. will put up a phone battery, label it battery. Temu will up the phone's picture, label it a phone - whereas the it's just the battery they're selling. Why? Anyone that says all you have to do is read dimensions does not understand how deception works. Reading every print and dimension can reduce this problem. But it won't eliminate it.

I went to a dry cleaner with my friend and then the issue of temu came up Mr. Dry cleaner was very happy to purchase a bicycle guess what? I told him to show me the bicycle he is expecting from temu and I burst laugh grin

Why was I laughing? On the surface if you see the bicycle you will think you have gotten the best sports bike in the world, it's only when you scroll down to the dimensions that's when you discover that this sports bike that is so beautiful is only 15cm in height and 20cm in height grin.

All I did to warn this dude that he is receiving a toy bicycle and not a real bicycle fell on deaf ears , I wish I was there to see this his bicycle in real time grin my laughter would be unimaginable grin. He is still expecting his beautiful 20cm by 15cm bike that he will be riding to deliver services to his clients grin

To be fair, some of the things you highlighted is true, but see ehn, 2 things I make sure I do when shoping on temu.
1. Read description properly, cause I have made the same mistake, in my earlier days of shopping there I once bought an airpod cover thinking it was the airpod itself, only to go back to the description and saw that I didn't read it properly. So i always read description properly.
Second thing is, apart from reading the reviews, i always make sure I check for reviews that post pictures, very very important. So i see an actual sample of what I'm going to get to be sure it's what I would like before going ahead to make the purchase.
And I haven't had an issue ever since i started doing these.

But on a serious note....is this reoccurring problem Temu's fault of that of the buyer?. undecided .
Majorly temu but minorly the customer. Temu knows there are lots of greedy buyers around the world so they play tricks on buyers by displaying products in such a way that you will think what you are buying is what you are seeing and that's deceptive.

A dry cleaner made a purchase of dry cleaning machine because it's cheap but guess what? It isn't the washing machine but the cover of the washing machine. This is how temu deceived the greedy dry cleaner. If you want to buy the cover of the washing machine isn't it what you should see while making your orders? But no, that's not what is displayed. The full picture of the washing machine was what was displayed on the first pictures on that order it is only when you scroll to the last that you will see the washing machine and it's dimensions which to me is deceptive because most shoppers don't scroll to the last of all pictures displayed for a particular item. Why not display what you are selling first and display it in a way that shoppers understand what they are buying?

Greedy buyers will always fall prey to these advertising tricks of temu, how on earth do you expect to buy something using 5 to 10% of the initial cost and be satisfied grin

Temu is Fraudulent online store. Please Nigerians stop patronizing Temu. Everything you see on Temu is a big scam. Few days ago, I ordered 27000mah power bank and they delivered power bank condom to me. I ordered 2 shoes at 47k each when I saw the shoes, I wept! They are not worth 7k in our local market, they were worst than Aba made. Temu do me strong thing! I wasted 158k on Temu store and everything they delivered was extremely inferior! I no fit cry!
On the online store the shoe will be next thing after sliced bread grin, that's bad.

Agreed. For the most part. You may be right.

The thing is, an ecommerce platform should not be a minefield where only smart and experienced people can shop. Average people, elderly people, even children, should be able to shop on Temu. That's why these complaints are valid.

Almost bought an Ultra 25 on Temu for 81k.
I already ordered but then I went to research deeply and found out that it was a fake replica of Samsung Ultra.
I canceled immediately.
I decided to go and buy from a retailer shop physically.

I think its the buyer's fault that he doesn't go through the details of what he is ordering. There are always dimensions to their products. Even though the picture may be magnified, but the dimensions remain accurate to the product size in question.
No their product are inferior quality. I bought polo shirt from there for 11k. The quality is very poor.

I used to think it was people's fault. Now I understood the Chinese sellers there are just dubious.

Temu is found of doing this. Wifey had to reject a number of items in the past week. The good thing is that they readily acknowledge the mix-up and refund accordingly.
They guy show register his dissatisfaction on the platform, they will refund his money in part if he still wants the phone or he returns the phone and get full refund.

These are called mini smart phones

It's not a scam. AliExpress and Jumia sell them too.

There are companies that specialize in making them as as sort of novelty although they're fully functional with lesser specs.

These content creators do these things deliberately

Lol.... anyways seems like greed is the main problem on the customers side..... imagine hoping to get something at less than 20-10% of it's price..... normally the person is supposed to sit down and ask themselves if this is for real but boom they'll fall for it since them think say na them wise pass....I can hardly see myself falling for such tricks because I'll first seek first hand information from other buyers to have some confidence before even contemplating buying it and supposing I don't get the needed clarification...I'll just forget about it. cheesy .

I agree with you in almost all of your point, However like you said on teh machinery part, One has to read the description and once it do not make sense next shop please. For example all its power tools do not come with battery. I will only buy practical stuff from them. My 1st mistake was ever buying washing line Pegs to peg clothes, they where miniature o nes, but it was my fault as I paid no attention to the measurement, so I learnt my lesson. My tape measure is sitting by my PC all the time cos of Temu.I bought whole computer table on Temu and corresponding chair. Online there would be people who try to scam by trying to be clever ie stingy with desriptions. These days I realy take my time to read the description and make an inform decision. Between this year and last year I have probably spent close to N9 to 11 m on that site.my first real purchase was a car diagnostic tool,N450k and it works perfect till date. I have bought ,pans, cups, spoons, rug carpet, Living room and all house Deco,Soft chairs loads of item. All free delivery, ALi expres do they do free delivery? cos I have never shoped with them B4,but they have weighty Items

ALso do not forget, these platforms do not control the shops, they just go about picking up orders and gather them, unlike the others who ship direct to the end buyer .So could be hard to monitor in this kind of Biz, unlike Ebay who review and monitor.

Temu should do better. They aren't the only online platform. But this keeps recurring on their platform.

It's either they do it intentionally or they have a problem with their description of goods.

It's most likely they do it intentionally though and it's fraudulent.

They would eventually run into legal issues or people would begin to boycott their platform.

No business with a long term investment plan uses this model for sales. Businesses don't grow this way!

Download their app and try. I have about 5 separate orders coming now. Have neen buying from them and their customer service is top notch.

All these people complaining didn't read very well to know what they're buying.

You can see picture of phone being used to showcase phone casing and you go and click on it waiting for temu to deliver the phone model for you at 3k price.

Even if you make such mistake, they have a very fast and efficient return and refund system.

I personally have complained about an item I bought that developed fault and instantly, they told me to keep that one, no need to return and refunded me immediately.

I use the money to still order for a different model of the same product which has now arrived at phc distribution center because, once you order, they'll be updating you steadily on how your goods they waka till you get it.

Temu made me trust them o.

Unless they change tomorrow.
