Serious hope revived in me. Especially because of the increase in Lagos clubs. Maybe just maybe they'd drive a professionalized NPFL

Good to see Ranchers Bees rebranded. All four only need to structure for the only goal of league survival.
It is expensive maintaining a team in the NPFL too especially when continental participation comes in. I say expensive because besides selling players there doesn't seem to be revenue generators for them.

Exactly. The podcast with Ikorodu Utd CEO cemented it in my mind.

I believe the advantage of a private mind is to find ways to make profit and the Lagos brand will hopefully rub off on the whole country.

Maybe NPFL should test the geography split model + Super 6 model. Shorter main season, more opportunity for tiered sponsors.

Kelechi Nwakali finally played his first game of the 2025/26 League one season yesterday.

Seems the sadist, Conor Hourihane finally caved in since he could not secure promotion and not even a playoff spot.

At least, good to know the lad is still football-alive.

Moses Usor, 24 scored again today as LASK played 1-1 away at league leaders Sturm Graz in a fierce clash for the title that saw LASK lose 2 players to red cards.

Usor is on 11 goals, 4 assists. LASK's top scorer and a decent attacker profile who can play on the wing, as an SS or part of a 2 man attack.

Confirmed:

The four teams with confirmed promotion to the NPFL next season are as follows:

1. Sporting Lagos
2. Inter Lagos
3. Doma United
4. Ranchers Bees

Want to know what the common denominator is amongst these clubs?

All four clubs are probably privately owned.

We are gradually getting to the point where the NPFL will be a league of largely privately run clubs.

Ranchers Bees reportedly belongs to Super Eagle's player Sadiq Umar.
Oh my God,I supported Ranchers Bees as a boy, followed them fanatically, coached then by Argentina coach Dominiques in the 80s,the team produced free kick specialist Ayo Ogunlana, the man who scored 12 goals in a season through free kick...this team gave us young Daniel Amokachie.Ranchers bees a finalist of CAF winners cup 1988...good to have Ranchers Bees of Kaduna back

I prefer he stays in England, or a decent club in France instead of going to Rangers.

Blackburn won last night, they escaped relegation

Rangers gave Calvin Bassey the opportunity, now we have Emma Fernandez so a very good idea if Alebiosun Ryan join Rangers

Any of the clubs won’t be bad but Rangers have been lucky with Nigerian players of recent so heading to Glasgow will be preferable

Aside Rangers I would pick Genoa for him

I have this feeling that both the NFF and Chelle have been talking to a lot of euro born ballers of late but with less noise.

Even I heard that some including few academy lads with epl clubs may feature in the upcoming unity cup

If the NFF can get Williams Osula, it will really be good for Nigeria. He's a forceful and aggressive forward. That's the kind of player we want in our National team.
Another player the NFF should go all out for is Ethan Nwaneri. We can get him. He's not in the plan for the 3 lions, at least for now.

I have my reservations about how his personalty fits Barca. He fits Madrid more.

United are best fit, followed by Chelsea.

A Boniface fits Spain more than Osimhen I believe.
And he proves me right on his first match post-injury.

https://x.com/Cleverlydey4u/status/2047180637279310221

This kind of aggression is a negative in most clubs, but in some clubs like Madrid it's a big requirement.
