Teeore: Yes, your tuition deposit is part of the funds available for your stay. You could also create a table highlighting the total funds required for your first year, what has been remitted, what is left, and your mum's current account balance, and upload this to your Proof of Finance section. |

Skywalker9a:Do you have a specific question? Are there any schools or research areas you already have your eye on? |

Ngozi0009: Ngozi0009: Going by your recent posts, I can say that if you have naturalization in view, Canada is generally considered easier and faster than the UK for an international student. So, you likely made the right decision. However, the last time I checked, Construction Management was suspended at Conestoga College, so you may want to revisit your choice. As for whether Construction Management is a good program, I would say it is. But like most engineering-related fields, employers tend to require practical experience. That said, it’s still very much worth it, especially when you consider the ongoing infrastructure growth and housing demand. If I might ask you, what was your undergraduate program? |

For IRCC to Tweet on this tells you everything about their current focus.... International student numbers have dropped significantly compared to 2024 which clearly means refusals have gone up a lot. It’s a tough time for applicants… wishing everyone the best in their journey. 🙏 https://x.com/CitImmCanada/status/2046637089060540807?s=20 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/reports-statistics/statistics-open-data/immigration-stats/students-workers.html

amnotapervert:Your aim has always been to discourage people here. But guess what? Every day people are posting here how they got their study permits approved. Just because people don't use your agents |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 5:55am On Apr 23 |
AbelAbdul:I didn’t discourage anyone I simply shared what IRCC posted yesterday. Calling that “discouraging” doesn’t change the facts. Facts don’t depend on how we feel about them. If what I shared made you uncomfortable, that’s not my intention but I do not sugarcoat reality. I have always encouraged people to apply. I am personally a product of persistence and continuous applications, and it eventually worked out for me. As for the agent argument that doesn’t apply to me. I don’t own an agency, and I am not acting as any Facebook, Telegram, or WhatsApp agent. The real issue seems to be that I speak honestly about registered immigration consultants, and some people don’t like that possibly because it affects their business. But this comes from real experience. A close friend of mine was a victim of fake agents and received a 5-year ban back in 2017/2018. Even though he later moved to Brazil in 2022 calculate that and the time and Money wasted on applying for many VIsa types in US UK and Germany when he had a Visa ban in Canada he didn't even know because of what Facebook Instagram agent........Sometimes people do not understand the damage it does Those years were very difficult for him in terms of visa applications. That situation opened my eyes to how serious this issue is. I am not here to discourage anyone I only say it as I see it...... The visa rejection rate is hight is real, and nothing I have said is false. I won’t sugarcoat things just to make people feel better.......maybe Your Facebook agents will sugarcoat things |

Greetings all, am new to this thread. Is anyone here studying at Thompsons Rivers University? I would love to know more from a student (Nigerian student) perspective about the school, environment, off-campus jobs, Visa success rate, racist tendencies, etc. Wouldn't want to depend on online views. Thanks, it's also my first time considering Canada. I have focused on USA, got some offers....but visa ban! |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 9:15am On Apr 23 |
Hmmmm Why did you get a US visa ban? Canada and US share data, be prepared to address it when applying for a Canadian visa. machine606: |

Ngozi0009:You’re welcome. Since you studied Civil Engineering and have practical experience in the field, I have gone the extra mile to handpick the following programs for you: 1. Conestoga College: Civil Engineering Technology (3-year Advanced Diploma) 2. Fanshawe College: Construction Engineering Technology (3-year Advanced Diploma) 3. Centennial College: Construction Project Management - (1-year Graduate Certificate) 4. University of New Brunswick: Construction Engineering and Management (MEng) All four are available and their curriculums are quite appealing, going by your profile. Go ahead and apply if you love them. I can't wait to read your success story. |

ATTAHDYE:I wasn't banned, was referring to the general visa restrictions. Thank you. |

Good day Everyone, I got into University of Toronto for a 2 year M.Eng In Mechanical and Industrial Engineering starting September 2026 and I have a few questions. 1. My tuition is CAD35,718 per year for 2 years while living expenses is CAD23,000 per year totalling CAD58,718 per year. My Father is my sponsor, he owns a business, in his business account he's got about #230,000,000 ~CAD232k and his personal account he's got about #30,000,000, ~CAD30k. Additionally, I have secured a loan of 41,000 USD which is what I actually want to use to pay my tuition while my father covers my living expenses. Do you think showing Loan + Business account + dad's personal account will be enough POF to convince IRCC? Do you think I should ask my dad to send about #30,000,000 more from his business account to personal so I can show #60,000,000 or more? 2. I did my undergrad in SA, graduated 2024 and been working since then, I'm leaving my job end of may to come apply for my study permit in Nigeria. When showing proof that I worked, is my employment letter and payslip enough? I'm asking because my previous expired passport with my work permit was lost and I have an affidavit that proves it. 3. How do I prove home ties because I'm single, not married, mid 20s? I plan to write about coming to manage my dad's business as he's in the manufacturing sector which aligns closely with industrial engineering. Is it compelling enough? |

justwise:A friend of mine is this type situation, 1 year course, school fees is <20k, she has paid 1st semester. She is being sponsored by aunt (mom's sister living in the US) Will it really be an issue? Should she use GIC for proof of funds? How do you advise her to phrase her ties to the country? She is not really working in a serious organisation, she is into remote jobs. Thank you for your advise in advance. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 11:24pm On Apr 23 |
Ngozi0009:Yes, you can if you wish to and are not constrained by the application fees required. However, note that you only need one. |

Please can someone shed more light on this, if one is getting a monthly allowance from there spouse and has saved up enough to pay for there Canadian fees and also the allowance will continue even while she’s in Canada. She also works but her salary is not essentially where her bulk of funds is from. And she earns yearly from her rental property. Is there any need to add her spouse as sponsor or add any of his details like payment slip or employment letter since she’s paying her fees and all by her self. She also intends on using her sister in the Uk as her sponsor although she’s using that to strengthen her application. She got into the LPN program for internationally trained nurses since she’s a Nigerian nurse with diploma looking to broaden her existing knowledge. Also I’m aware that applications from colleges are being denied a lot at the moment. What’s the viability of her application being successful? Also she has ties as she’s not going with her kids and husband. |

Good day all, I have several documents to upload in the client section, I know how to merge PDF documents, how can I name the documents accordingly before uploading so it won't confuse the visa officer. I don't know how to name each document when merging them together. Someone should please help me out on this issue |

Hello guys. I have a degree in management and accounting, with NYSC work experience. I'll really like to study Business Analytics as a graduate program in Canada. Any advice on what school is best to apply for, in terms of PR and after school work prospect. (I know nothing is guaranteed but I will like to position myself for the best opportunity possible.) Also, is there any particular reason why I should go for a 2 years program over a one year program (I saw on Youtube that the PGWP duration is the same regardless. I will really appreciate any advice |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by leksite120(m): 6:00pm On Apr 24 |
Chigbo55:On your first page, create a table of content that shows the document name and page to make it easy for whoever is reading to trace. Then merge the documents accordingly. If you can label the heading of each doc, good. And if you cant, no problem. Just make sure your table of content matches each page. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by leksite120(m): 6:02pm On Apr 24 |
Treyray:To qualify for pgwp now, you have to do study 2yrs program. So, its not the same as 1yr. Also, for the sake of PR which you're aiming, if you want to study business analytics, it should better be masters and not college program. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by AbelAbdul: 7:45pm On Apr 24 |
Treyray:If the program is a master or PhD with a minimum duration of 8 months, your are eligible for a 3 year PGWP. |
