The cardinal mistake made by the man caught with a pistol, was his decision to arm himself with an illegal handgun, rather than going through the proper channels to obtain a licensed shotgun or rifle. He probably just made that up on the spot, knowing how plausible it is in today's Nigeria. He's far too steeped in crime for a judge to buy it. I'm sure they'll throw the book at him.
