SportConn:
A realistic target, but only if we fix the basics now. We have enough talent for Nigeria national football team to qualify for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and compete seriously at the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
What we need is stability: competent coaching, merit-based selections, better midfield balance, and proper long-term planning instead of last-minute fire brigade football.
The player pool is strong, but structure wins tournaments. If the federation gets decisions right, this generation can deliver. If not, we will keep saying “next cycle.”
Qualify for AFCON 2027?
We are planning to win it

EPL club Fulham monitoring Trapzonspor’s Super eagles newly capped CB Chibuike Nwaiwu

The former Espérance player, Michael Eneramo, has passed away suddenly from a heart attack. May God have mercy on him and grant strength to his family. 😔😔😔😔😔
I remember this guy
Strong and burly striker on his prime..
God comfort his family ❤️❤️

If true, this is sad for Tolu
I know the prestige of playing in the EPL and the increased wages will always be attractive..
But joining the EPL bottom club was not a good move..
The memory of Onuachu's and Aribo's misfortune with Southampton is still fresh in my memory..

It's well

🇳🇬 𝐍𝐄𝐖: Ex-Super Eagles star Victor Agali reveals how he discovered Maduka Okoye for Nigeria

“I was with his father in Düsseldorf; I was in the stadium watching him play for the second team.

“At that time, the coach of Fortuna Düsseldorf was my former coach, so I had access and went to watch the game.

“The boy said yes, he would love to play for Nigeria, but not the Super Eagles. He was ready for U17 or U20.

“People had the players they wanted in the team, but I tracked talents across Europe. That’s how we found players like Okoye.”

Remember his goal against Tunisia in the 2010 WC qualifiers.

Condolences to his loved ones.

RIP

It's really sad Uche Left Getafe to be a bench warmer at struggling crystal palace
I hope he finds his place back at Getafe
So many of our players make the wrong move all in the name of playing in the big league
From Aribo to Tolu
Just looked at how people have turned their backs on Tolu the same people that were happy he moved to Wolves
One is even saying he should go and find his level in Turkish league
The same Tolu just last year was saving us in the world cup qualifies

Same thing happening to Nnadi at Marseille. I was worried after the move was confirmed coz I did my search on Marseille's midfield situation. It is really not about how big or good a club is. It is about whether there is a playing slot for our lads moving to those clubs. If there is not, then pls dont move there. Move to where you will play and not just earn.

Now folks are saying they prefer Alebiosu in france or Germany (Wolfsburg) and not Rangers but are failing to look at which of these clubs have an available slot to enable Alebiosu see constant gametime.

And constant gametime is not just for player improvement and experience sake. From an economic P.O.V, it is constant gametime that raises the financial value of the player.

This is why it is important to check if our lads will see gametime wherever they go.

It is nice to read that Femi Azeez is likely to make the Unity Cup List. Very good one.

60 chances created, 17 big chances created, 9 goals, 7 assists, 33 games (31 starts), EFL Championship POTY Nominee and Team of the Season 2025/26.

I feel so bad for Uche because he was balling at Getafe and he was their best player at a time. What a waste of talent

Did this Nwakaeme ever play for the super eagles? Fantastic baller
BascoVanVeli:
Trabzonspor win their quarterfinal matchup after penalties. Onana saved 3 and only Onuachu, Nwakaeme and Nwaiwu scored 👀

I have mentioned him before but let me do it again

21 y/o Isaac James (LB/LWB) of Alverca... he's had an impressive 2025/26 season so far in the Liga Portugal.

2 assists, 11 chances created, 3 big chances created, 82 defensive contributions, 62 recoveries, 17 games(13 starts). Another option to consider at LB.

Here is a comparative data of Isaac vs Zaidu in same league this season.

Crosses Completed ✅️ Isaac

xA (Expected Assists)✅️ Isaac

Progressive Passes✅️ Zaidu

Possession Won✅️ Isaac

Defensive duel %✅️ Zaidu

Aerial duel % ✅️ Zaidu

iF WE SET ASIDE FINANCIAL STRENGTH.
THE IRONY IS THAT SEVILLA IS FAR BETTER THAN THIS CRYSTAL PALACE
I THINK SEVILLA HAS WON EUROPA 7 TIMES.
ALSO ALL SORTS OF FAMOUS PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED FOR SEVILLA
CRYSTAL PALACE HAS A BETTER CURRENT FORM BUT IT IS JUST THERE.
SEVILLA IN A SENSE IS A BIG BOY CLUB.
THE LA LIGA IS AT THE SAME LEVEL AS THE PREMIER LEAGUE.
CRYSTAL PALACE JUST BOUGHT FOR FORM.
TECHNICALLY I EVEN THINK LA LIGA IS BETTER.
AS IN BEING TECHNICAL WITH THE BALL.
I DONT GET THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE THING.

Point of correction...Uche was loaned to Crystal Palace with an option to buy against his will. He was Loaned so Getafe could meet FFP regulations. Hopefully he rediscovers his form on his return to Getafe.

I hope in all this, atleast he got a higher salary than when he was at Getafe
Because if not, na him lose big time o

No guarantee Getafe might even reinstate him
