Please guys, is it still possible to get an original battery for the Redmi 9T?

I have one that I've been using for a while now but the battery is weak. I had an engineer replace it but the replacement battery is not strong at all

I pray they collect the phone back from your mummy
My mum travelled back to Lagos yesterday to return both phones. The seller refused to refund her, and after many back and forth, he gave her new ones (He replaced only the phone, like, he took new phones from other cartons and gave it to her shocked)

She mentioned a whole lot of resellers from different states are at the store to buy Redmi phones for selling, and they all gathered together to convince her nothing's wrong with the phones and I don't know what I'm saying. In fact, the seller called me, and after re-explaining the same message I've sent him on WhatsApp (which he ignored), he told me I'm saying nonsense grin.

The 2 new phones have the exact same issues as the previous ones. The bootloader of both is unlocked, which shows they are both compromised.

The guy decided to install and activate WhatsApp on one of the 2 new phones to show my mum it works, but I know he probably just applied a patch to trick WhatsApp, and the app will stop working in a few weeks after a few playstore/WhatsApp/Redmi OS updates.

Well, I'm planning to create a new thread to alert people to this fake Redmi phones in circulation. I also intend to write a mail to FCCPC, SON and Redmi alerting them to the issue of compromised phones being sold by these sellers.

Hopefully, the agencies I will write to will act.

I read your post and I'm scratching my head like I don't get it.... except the initial purchase was impromptu, if not, you did your mum a great deal of disservice by not accompanying her(seeing as you are knowledgeable about phones from your post) or at least advise that she purchase the devices at a nearby/ closer location.

The second trip to Lagos was even a greater disservice like, you noticed these things...no be you suppose go explain to the seller?

Omo, my mum prefers buying things in Lagos, since it's usually cheaper than buying in Ondo state (she was once a trader, and Lagos/Ibadan/Onitsha is where she usually travels to buy market to resell). Left to me, I would have ordered on Jumia.

As for returning with her to Lagos, it's not really convenient grin

Up next, I will be creating a new post on Nairaland, explaining the details, and how people can check if they've bought the fake phones (because from what my mum explained yesterday, many resellers from other states are buying from the store to go resell. So it's a big big issue).

I will also be writing a mail to Xiaomi Nigeria to report the fake products, then I will call their official line on Monday to restate my report.

I also intend to mail FCCPC, LASCOPA, SON and probably report to VDM to blow the fake Redmi products story if I can reach him.

All in all, this thing hasn't ended and I don't know how it will end, but I know if XIAOMI wants to protect their brand image from getting damaged, they'll happily take up the case.
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by eteebanky1: 5:23pm On Apr 18
Why all the stress when she can simply order it from jumia to her convenient location.

Those phones are not Global version

It might be a Chinese version with flashed Global ROM Device..... Your mom was an unsuspecting customer, A Win for the dishonest seller.

even to resale those phones will be very hard.

Stroll to About phone and screenshot for us to see.

As suggested, screenshot the about section of the phone let's see the rom version and kernel. I don't think the phones are fake otherwise they won't run on HyperOs, I think they are mostly used Chinese version phones.

Based on the checks by the Xiaomi service center I contacted, the IMEI suggests used Philippines/Cameroon version.

But the serial number of one of them doesn't match the IMEI, so that particular one is likely fake.

What we wanted was brand new phones, not used phones that have been flashed to make them work in Nigeria, and then repackaged as new.

All these long write-ups, yet you couldn't assist your mum with her purchase, all because it wasn't convenient for you. It's okay o.

I'm also using it. Although this year.

Meanwhile, do you often leave it for some time without using it?

Depending on the volume you set it.

If it's fully charged, mine used to last around 6, 7 hours on 50% volume.

Leaving it for a while without using it is the internal factor I know can make it swell fast.

And you do not use it in places with high heat?

My volume is always 70-100%.

In terms of heat ,it is always in my pocket when I am working.
Sha I will try itel earbuds or oriamo

You're referring to the casing, since it would shield it from heat.

What of the two buds while you're not working?

Maybe you could remember using it under sun, subconsciously.

Same thing happened to mine.
Bought it and in a matter of months one ear wasn't holding charge and yet the Qcy Melobuds Pro I've been using for far longer is still going strong.
Not exactly a great audition for Xiaomi earbuds.

Good evening guys, I paced an order for a redmi phone since last month it's supposed to have gotten here but got stuck at starting customs clearance since 4th of this month.
Please I hope all is well ooo. Has anyone experienced this before, is it just normal delay or there's a secondary reason for this?

I'll appreciate any response on this 🙏

Don't try it. They will steal your phone. We don't know if it's Nipost or Custom staff doing that.

The phone I ordered came in with a different name and address but same tracking number.
When checked by Nipost at the delivery office, it was past questions they put inside instead of the phone. Obviously, someone has stolen it.

What saved me was that I quickly went to the post office immediately I noticed it has gotten there on the tracking website I used.
If not, someone else would have collected the parcel with the name on it, and AliExpress will mark it as delivered and that is the end with my money.

Buy your phone here if it's in Nigeria, if not, check jiji maybe you can find a seller who has the phone.

Guys please help.

Two days ago, I noticed I couldn't reply messages again on my WhatsApp. When I type and send, the message disappears and WhatsApp will stop working. I cleaned cache, uninstall and reinstalled even formatted my phone thinking it would be solved but all to no avail. Business WhatsApp is working on the phone but I also need official whatsapp. I even tried GB whatsapp, it worked for one hour and it couldn't de-encrypt messages after that. The phone is Redmi 15c 6+6gb ram
