Qureshi' argument was not actually responded too. He is correct in stating that atheistic morality cannot be absolute.
Dawkins proceeded to create a few strawmen, conflate religions and then assert secular thinking is what drives current day morality.

I have repeatedly stated the biblical writ giving love as the basis for all human interactions. Secular humanist morality gave us the slave trade and a brethren evil - abortion (amongst others). And humanist\secular\material morality will always prove inferior to the biblical basis of love for your fellow man as created in the image of God.

Most of what is claimed to be secular morality (Western style, as it is not universally accepted) has its basis in the bible.

And he couldn't help but liken it to "Intelligent Design" - God that is !

My view.
I think we are living in a dangerous times and I can see it getting worse.

I think there is a sense in this country(the US) of things being out of control
And I think Trump has fostered that with his violent rhetoric, constant lies and use of ICE to terrorize cities.

There is a sense that:
Laws/rules no longer matter. That those in power just do as they please. And that there is no one to go appeal to for it to stop.
The President is not accountable to anyone, largely because he has usurped Congress and the Supreme Court seems intend for the most part to let him do as he pleases.
That Trump flouts laws/rules he doesn't like (like pardoning the convicted Jan 6ers and the domestic terrorists Proud Boys and Oath Keepers)
That reality is no longer reality (no one can trust what this Administration says and his supporters lie with zeal to gaslight you (Raumdeuter))
And that there is no one to turn to. How does one fight the Federal Government when the DOJ is an arm of Trump and Congress does whatever he says no matter how irrational.

America is a deeply proud country with a history of Revolution and civil liberty.
The 2nd amendment wasn't created for hunting it was created to push back against a tyrannical government that oppresses the states.
People who supported the 2nd amendment shouldn't be surprised. The previous Trump attempted shooters were either Trumpers or had a Trumper family steeped in Guns.
Liberals are generally anti-violence with a belief in the ability to change through diplomacy or finding common ground. So, this one is new.
Trump seems to ne radicalizing even those predisposed to non-violence.

Congress needs to get its act together and be the separate branch that holds the Executive accountable.
But, given this equally insane push for a ball room, I don't see that happening.
I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. The midterms can't come soon enough so people can feel they have a sense of accountability.

Trump does not own the White House nor any Federal property. He is a temporary guest.
There is no law that allows him to do anything of that magnitude to the white house, whether it's through private or government funding.
The power to manage Federal Land is delegated to Congress by the Constitution.

If the President wants to make extensive changes to the White House, he should go to Congress for permission no matter how it's paid.

It's similar to someone renting your house. They can't just make extensive changes it to it even though they are funding it themselves.
But, most MAGA wouldn't know about that.

It does seem very suspect that the first Correspondents Dinner Trump goes to (didn't go in his previous term), there is less than adequate security, there is an attempted shooting and then he uses it to push a ballroom, something he's been trying to push forever.

The problem is with the mendaciousness of this administration it is easy to believe anything.

But, that is a problem in itself.
