Arise TV presenter and media personality Rufai Oseni has reacted to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s public endorsement of his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, as a preferred successor for the 2027 Lagos governorship race.

Sanwo-Olu had earlier praised Hamzat during a meeting at Lagos House, Marina, describing him as competent, loyal, and prepared to lead Lagos after his tenure.

“Mr Deputy Governor is a man who is fit and well-prepared for this job. He is a man who knows where all the rooms in the house are.”

He also added:

“He is a man who has worked with me at the highest level of integrity, loyalty, commitment, support.”

Reacting to the endorsement, Rufai Oseni said he believes the final political decision may depend on President Bola Tinubu’s position, suggesting that endorsements within Lagos APC may carry limited weight without his backing.

“I’d like to know where President Tinubu stands, until he gives Hamzat the nod, I can’t take any endorsement seriously.”

His comment has sparked fresh conversations online, with many Nigerians debating the influence of political godfathers, party structures, and the role President Tinubu may play in deciding who emerges as the APC candidate in Lagos.

so in your delusional mind, Sanwo olu and GAC members that all have endorsed Hamzat did so without the backing of the father of modern Lagos Tinubu? You remembered he is a zoologist practicing journalism but you don't remember that Tinubu likely has not known educational qualification. Show us his primary school certificate which is the basic qualification.

President Tinubu has a say in his Lagos state unlike the demented Peter Obi who has been trying and failing woefully for three election cycles to install a Governor in Anambra that will be pliable to him.
