I Can’t Relax Since I Got This Chameleon… Meet Nova by mgamelia(op): 8:11am On Apr 20
I’ll be honest—I knew this wasn’t the safest decision. But when I saw Nova, I couldn’t walk away. She’s tiny. Like, really tiny. About an inch long, and somehow already running my entire routine.

The first few days? Pure stress. I kept checking on her every hour. Is she eating? Is the humidity right? Is she even okay? If you’ve ever owned a micro chameleon, you know exactly what I mean.

What surprised me most is how sensitive they are. A small mistake—like slightly low humidity or missing a feeding—can become a serious issue fast. I’ve tested this myself, and honestly, this is where things got real. I had to slow down, adjust everything, and start paying attention to details I used to ignore.

Why Nova Keeps Me on Edge

These tiny chameleons don’t give you obvious signs. No loud warnings. No dramatic behavior. Just subtle changes. One day she’s active, the next she’s still—and that’s enough to make your heart drop.

For example, I noticed she skipped a meal. Normally, that might not seem like a big deal. But with Nova, it is. That’s when I started tracking everything—feeding, misting, even her movements.

Still, it’s not all stress. There’s something incredibly rewarding about caring for such a delicate creature. When she moves, slowly and carefully, it feels like you’re watching something rare.

Would I recommend it? Honestly—only if you’re ready. This isn’t a casual pet. Nova taught me that fast.

Thank you. I prefer to read about it like this than own one. On d issue of skipping a meal, chameleons has got a sticky tongue, it could have eaten enough insects to neglect it's food.

We all knows what we are doing in this country.

Deji talks about Peter Obi being a chameleon, suddenly Nairaland mods dig up a chameleon post and put it on FP.

We all knows what we are doing in this country but time will tell.

I lived in Sokoto for awhile and saw lots of chameleons so I am surprised humidity is an issue. Might it be the species of chameleon?

Everyone is not in the same level of life. The rat that is a pest to you is someone else's pet. This thinking of their problems not sharing the same color with yours is a PhD symptom.

What exactly do you mean by 1 inch long? Your deek at its state of rest should be about 4 inches long. Your handheld phone should be about 5 inches long (at least). Do you mean that your phone is 5 times longer than the chameleon, or your deek is about 4 times the size of the chameleon? Then it must be a nano digital device, and not the animal chameleon that we know. Sometimes you people will write something and be confusing those of us who attended Chicago State University. Ask Rhino Omockery if i'm wrong.
