ASTDA:
Hi everyone, I trust we're well. I wanted to make inquiries on POF, and how people go about it. I have a lump sum that is more than enough for the required POF, that is available to be sent to my account, my school fees will be paid before I apply for my visa, so all I need to figure out is how do people structure lump sums dropping in their accounts and explain to IRCC in a way that works.

It's coming from work account, I'm currently employed there but they are reluctant to say they are funding my application or that it's a work bonus. Anyway anyone can think of that can serve as a reasonable explanation to IRCC that has been used and one that actually worked.

Thank you guys.

Note: I also own a 3 bedroom bungalow that will help with home-ties and revenue source
Do not lie to IRCC about anything POF

IRCC hates everything and anything about POF misrepresentation as it brings about 5 years visa ban PLEASE do not

Just do what John 8:32 (ESV) says The truth will set you free Just tell IRCC the truth on how you got the money...visa rejection is better than visa ban

How much is the lump sum you have available to cover your tuition fees? Also, how much income are you generating from your 3-bedroom bungalow to support your overall financial situation?

I am asking because, aside from tuition, you need to show IRCC that you have at least $22,895 available for living expenses.

On average, tuition fees in Canada for a 2-year program for international students are around $35,000 ( except Brandon University and Memorial University which is way cheaper) When you add the required $22,895 for living expenses, you’re looking at a total of about $60,000.

So the one question you should be asking yourself, is your lump sum and expected income sufficient to cover this amount?

Good morning. I don't know if I should say I am new here because I've been following this platform since last year and have been able to get my admission from the posts I read here. Kudos to Soltech1000, Okonkwobestman1, Sopwriter, Gloriousange. I read all of you posts one by one. I want to start my visa and I have questions.

1 We are family of 4 and all our children are minors. If the money is not the problem, would you advise me to leave my family behind or apply with them?
2 Will my wife and children need their own PAL?

Thank you

I am currently drafting my SOP, a landed property was sold and the money was requested to be transfered to my account. I have the deed of assignment to the land, sworn affidavit from my brother stating that he ordered the money to be sent to my account, receipt, nd credit alert that carries the buyer's name. is that enough for my financials?

also, my program is 16 month and I only have full funding for about 1 year, how do I tell them how i plan to fund the remaining 4 months ?cos tbh, I don't have any plan for that right now.

also for home ties, i am a single, male, currently employed, I plan to use my professsional life as home ties, all my siblins are here in nigeria. will that suffice for home ties?

Hi, I've been following this thread for a while now, I am about to submit my application but I need some advice. I got admission late last year for an MA program, I am based in Europe and I plan to submit POF equivalent to approx 70k CAD, self sponsoring, my estimated tuition fee is ~16k per year, which adding to the ~23k living expenses for 1yr would be total ~39k, aside from this 70k funds I don't have anyone who will sponsor me (so I'm 100% sponsoring myself), I am somehow relying on part-time job or scholarship when I arrive if possible to cover the remaining 9k for the total cost of the 2 years masters which is ~79k, I might not spend up to that amount as I know how to be responsible with me expenses, I know I'll survive with what I have and hope to add more before departure in September once the study permit is granted, but I'm not too sure how the visa officers looking at my case will see it from a financial standpoint, I know they want to see one year of fees + living expenses, and I know they still want to see how I plan to cover the rest of my expenses for the following year, this part I'm not sure how to show them since I am still short of some dollars that also include the return flight tickets cost they want to see. I need your honest opinion on how to present a strong case, initially I was hoping for some scholarship for this first year but unfortunately I didn't get anything yet and it's May already, sorry for the long text, I would really appreciate your honest opinion from your wealth of experience

In the IMM1294 form, there is a column to fill International passport number, country where it was issued, date issued and date expire.

I also see where the are asking if i have national identity document, date issue and date expire.

What should i fill in that national identity document?

Brother, you are in a good spot...don’t overthink it. Basically, you’re worried about the shortfall of 9k CAD based on your calculation. If everything else in your application is solid, a shortfall of 9k CAD shouldn’t be a problem.

To give you peace of mind, my only question is before September, will you have the remaining 9k? If you can explain to IRCC that you have a job, provide pay stubs, show that you were able to save the 70k CAD from your income, and that you will have the remaining 9k before September, then you should be fine.

I believe you will be good.

Since you are at 70k of 79 then it is easy...

Explain how you will make it over 85k before you will move. You should be fine if you have a job that generated the 70k.

Yes I can explain to them I have a job, I plan to attach my recent payslips (maybe 4 or 6 months payslips), employment contract, bank statement for 6 months, and bank certificate, I'm sure I'll be able to raise the 9k by September or close to 9k. Aside from these are there any other documents you think I should add for the POF? Or these are sufficient enough for POF?

Thanks for this, much appreciated 🙏

Thanks a lot, yes I have a job which I was able to save this amount, but looking at my pay I'm sure the visa officer will know I can't make it up to 85k by September since we're already in May.

Good morning, thank you for the help so far.

1. Please which payment platform are you using to pay school fees?

2. About proof of funds? If my course of study is for 2 years, do I need to show double of what IRCC has requested? Or just that 1 year is enough?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:56am On May 07
Hello, congratulations on your admission.
1. I will advise you apply only while you use your family as home ties, if you get your visa approved then you can put in for them.
2. Then don't need PAL, likewise you, if you are accepted for a master's or phd program you are eligible to come with your dependent, if otherwise they are not eligible except on tourist visa.

1. There are various platforms, such as Flywire, PayMyTuition Fee, AlliancePrime, etc.
2. I will recommend that you have the complete two-year funds accessible. If you don't have the 2yrs funds available, then you can show 1 year's funds and explain how you intend to finance your second year (When doing this, don't tell them you will work to offset your bills).

To make mine, I had to convert my funds to dollar. I used Flywire with dollar card to pay tuition deposit and i used Bank wire from my dollar acct to pay one year tuition because dollar card has a limit
