In the last three days I haven't had good night rests due to persistent and uncontrollable itching on my skin.

Though, right from time I've always had itches from time to time, but not as severe as this one currently.

These few days have been hell for me, as I can hardly sleep at night.

Over the years, I used to take a particular drug for Filariasis. It's a tiny drug that is white in color and has the exact size of a Piriton tablet. I would take only two of it for three or so months. But since I left home, I haven't seen where I can go to get those drugs. At my former place of residence, I used to go to a Primary Health care centre to take it. The drugs weren't even allowed to be taken home, you have to swallow it right there. And you must not eat before going to take it. You go in the mornings, take it on an empty stomach and wait till 1pm before you eat. It's being over five years since I relocated to a new city and I don't know where I can get the drugs. The drug is Free, but you will have to pay for a Card there.

I don't bathe with Rain Water or boil water to bath during the harmattan season, to avoid the itching.

My arms, armpits, tommy, behind my neck, scrotum and pubic region itch. When I scratch, It get swollen a bit, then the swell disappears after a few minutes, sometimes I injure myself when I'm scratching. The painful part is it itches me even to my anus. Inside my anus, I have scratched and scratched and the place has become painful. I have to be extremely careful whenever I use the restroom and need to wash my nyash.

This has caused me a lot of discomfort. I'm really depressed. The fact that I'm going through a lot now, makes the whole thing really tormenting. I've always prayed that God should keep my health, so I don't get bedfasted for any reason, because if I'm unable to go to work and provide for myself, nobody will. I'm all I've got.

I really need your inputs here, my brothers and sisters. Health is wealth honestly.

I think it might be as a red of water.
The water in your area is hard water I heard those in the UK suffer from it as well

My dear, your problem is a spiritual one.... You need to pray and drive out the demon out of your body.. any problem that defy medical care or drug has a spirit behind it.

I had skin infection which lasted for months. I spent more than 200k on drugs and test. I posted it here last year and a lot of them were shouting HIV.

someone here said i should be eating garlic i did but no way. I saw a post on TikTok where someone had that same skin disease and he was told to mix bitter leaf and one 'drygin' like that to drink. I have forgotten the name of the gin when i remember i will post.

Na so i buy that dry-gin and bitter leaf drank for two says since then no more itching and the rashes were gone.

What usually trigger this itch? is it after taking your bath or when you eat a particular food?

I notice I itch when I eat groundnut or immediately after taking my bath, I've learned to manage and live with it since no cure for it

Lack of vitamin D causes it. I live in Germany i had thr same problem mostly on Winter but since I started taking vitamin d it's gone.

You have chronic pruritus. It's more of a symptom than an actual disease. What that means is that you have an underlying health condition you have not treated, usually kidney, liver, skin or an allergy problem. You need to isolate which one it is and attack it back accordingly. Sorry. I cannot imagine what you're going through.

The medication you were describing is ivermectin

May you find healing. Why not go to the primary health care in your locale and get counsel? The medicine can't be so hard to get.

Hello. I advise you go see a doctor for proper diagnosis. I have seen a situation where itching was discovered to be one of the symptoms of impaired kidney function. Yes usually associated with other symptoms or co morbidities. Bottom line is, this is not a clinic. Go and see a medical practitioner for necessary tests and diagnosis. Much better than any guess work going on here

You should do LFT to rule our liver issues. High bilirubin is a good know cause.

Also, maybe don't bath at all, or touch water, and see if it's an allergic reaction. I know this reads ridiculous, but trust me allergies are real.

Check your water quality and temperature (hot or cold) how does it affect you. Check your sponge, soap, towers, body cream else check with a dermatologist.

If the itching is most prominent at night, it could be a sign of scabies. You can try the permethrin ointment.

I suffered the same thing my first year in Europe, it turns out it was just the water. Most Nigerians react to it initially before adapting, avoid direct sun light it helps to manage the itching.

From the way this thing looks, it may likely be a skin problem that is causing serious itching, and it is disturbing sleep at night.
But honestly, without seeing the skin or doing tests, it’s hard to be sure what exactly is going on.
If you can start by doing a Full blood count, Liver function tests, EUCR, Skin Scrape Test
In the mean time Oral antihistamine( 4th Gen) at night like Levocetirizine, Avoid hot baths and Strong soaps
Moisturize skin 2 hourly
After starting these and doing the tests, it’s important to see a skin specialist (Dermatologist) for proper diagnosis and treatment.
If possible, try to also take clear pictures of the skin rash will really help understand what is going on.
